50. Searching to Understand
Serenity got a lot done, and was keeping tabs on incidents going on. Things she needed to look for. Actually right now it was kind of nice, she was sitting in the shade here and he was gone back out in the water. She had no idea what had gotten into him. It wasn’t like he was a changed person, but since coming here two days ago he was definitely a little different. At least in demeanor. She was okay with that, they had gone back to the city that first night and he’d been silent. Almost brooding, but she was happy. It was great, she got an entire day. Then when they got back he stopped in the entryway and looked at her. This look came over him and he spoke roughly. “I am going out, I want to look at things. You can stay here.” She was so shocked by the declaration he made that she was just standing there holding her bag as the door shut. He was leaving her alo

51. Don't Think Just Do
Jormungand watched from below where she was as she got out. He felt when she came into the water and had the urge to come over. He was just thinking, contemplating, trying to figure out just what were strong enough reasons to choose something else. What was a strong enough reason to fight against fate for? Watching all these people he wasn’t getting an answer. So when they went back to the room he’d watched her, trying to figure out just what was her reason. What was strong enough for her even with what she said, he wasn’t talking about being alive because that was how you were born. Born to survive, what made you want to participate in life? What made you smile, what was it that when your heart was broken made it beat again? All things he had no experience with. He didn’t feel like he was getting a very strong answer by just watching, but how did one participate when they didn’t know how? When they would

52. Growing Comfort
Serenity felt a little unsteady as they made their way back to the car. Actually she was surprised that he didn’t want to stay at the moment. She felt him close behind her, really close and she was hyper aware of him at the moment. She was also half thinking about what she just did, more than once. How had she caved so easily? She went from telling him no to sure fine do what you want. Serenity was confused inside at her own wants and desires in life.  “How long do you want to stay here?” She asked breaking the silence. “In Las Vegas?” She glanced at him behind her, his gaze still looked darker.  “As long as it takes, I will go for this den soon. I need to know where Surt is, and one there will know where he is. If not then where this Antonio is, who can lead me to him. If Surt is trapped like we have been then we have time.” Which pissed him off, w

53. Different Choices
“The downstairs is a gentlemen’s club.” She said putting her hair back, she let out a rush of air. Not exactly an environment she was comfortable in. He raised an eyebrow, he’d heard her tell him that before. However it hadn’t really registered until now that this was what they now called brothels or whore houses. Though she said not all of them had women that sold their bodies, just got paid to let people look at them. He doubted in a house of demons they weren’t selling themselves. “Best way through is the bar?” He asked. “Or an upper level deck.” Which he could easily jump too, but he was more likely to be attacked right away before getting information.  “Correct.” She told him and she looked at the place. The sun was starting to sink, now was the best time with the light of day. “You sure you have the finesse to just talk?” She asked jokingly.

54. Dangerous Den
Jormungand walked up to the entrance, though there was a line outside of it at the moment. People paying a cover or something. Yeah he wasn’t standing in that line. He walked up to the bouncer and the man looked at him. He crossed his arms, he was shorter than Jormungand was but just as built. “Hey buddy, end of the line.” He said but was looking at Jormungand and his eye color, the aurora he had. This was a demon. “I’m not waiting in a line. I want to speak with Tanner.” He said and the man looked at him and then glanced toward another. “What business you have with him? What are you?” He asked and Jormungand met the demon’s gaze. Not black yet, but he wasn’t fooled. “I’m what’s going to kill you if you don’t let me through.” He seemed to think.

55. She Matters
Serenity was sitting on a bench right outside of the club. She figured once he started getting serious up there people were going to start running out. She was watching as they were closing the door and not letting others in anymore. There were a lot of complaints. All of a sudden people were also being ushered out clearly they wanted to close the place. Looked like they knew what they had on their hands now and were making room to fight with out humans being an issue. She heard Jormungad mentally and was tracing the number now. She watched a few demons go in. None paying attention to some nameless woman on the street with her nose in a tablet. Which she shoved into her computer bag putting it back in the case. She had a feeling they were going to have to run shortly here. She glanced across the street, perhaps she should back off in case he came crashing out the front in giant form or something.

56. Exhaustion
“Jor!” Serenity was trying to get up to his head. He was still his serpent, and they were on a beach so the wet sand made it hard moving in spots. She was soaked, but Jor was writhing in pain and not speaking to her. She didn’t think that he could change back, and had no idea if he was even hearing her “Jor stop moving! Let me help you, please!” She said and she saw the blood now running from his neck. “Change, change back!” She demanded and was trying to get him to stop moving so she could get her hands on him. ‘I can’t’ His mental voice was laced in pain, and more a growl. He was more animal like, and this was horrendous pain, the ring was shrinking and going to cut his head off. He’d done more than he should and clearly. The thing was going to punish him with death for n

57. Sickness
Jor woke first and Serenity felt like she was burning up, but she was also shaking slightly. He leaned up and felt her face before her forehead. She was definitely running a high fever. He got up moving around the bed to her side. He leaned over her frowning as she opened her eyes and looked at him. “I feel cold.” She said pulling the blankets closer. “You feel hot.” He told her and she was shivering, what was wrong with her? Why was she saying she was cold when she was clearly running a fever? He’d never dealt with anything like this before. He was concerned that she was really sick. The bruise on her face was yellow but not healed, he moved the blankets to check her for a second, other wounds weren’t much better.  “My head hurts.” She commented and he had a tight lipped expression.

58. Stay With Me
Jor was startled awake when Serenity just pulled away from him and suddenly leaned over the side of the bed and wretched hard. She vomited what little she had in her stomach and he moved steadying her when she nearly toppled out of the bed. She was sweating and looked very pale. Her skin was still hot to the touch and she was shaking. “I feel horrible.” Serenity said reaching for the water and her hand didn’t quite go the direction that she wanted it too. Jor got up and moved around getting the water for her and had to help her drink. She swayed where she sat and felt dizzy. “You look horrible.” He told her and she gave him a look. “Thanks.” She commented and he felt that tug to smile. She suddenly just went back and hit the bed. Her entire body seemed to go rigid and he had no idea how to describe the sounds she

59. Antidote
“Here, he’s been spotted.” Antonio handed Surt a paper. They were in New York City. Surt just felt like he should be here so here is where they went. Clearly they weren’t going to find Hel, and so they were back at square one. However Antonio’s work had paid off, and his call out to the Den that was now in ruins.  “Who?” “Jormungand. My den gave me a description. I have been monitoring and sending out a sketch and description to police bulletins. We have a hit, it was a long shot, but I think fate likes things to go its way. So here he is.” Antonio shook the paper and Surt took it looking at it and crumpled it, he couldn’t read this language. “Where?” “Four hours from us, at least that was where he was last seen. He and Thor did some serious damage, especially T
