The Big Reveal
Emily’s POVTheir voices became louder and although I couldn’t hear what they were saying, I could tell that they were having a heated argument. Dexter was mad and was throwing things at the Ripper who appeared to be the calmer of the two. I kept my eyes glued to the Ripper and I wished he could stare at me with those dark eyes of his like he had done at the party months ago. Dexter was yelling orders to his betas present and they began to encircle the Ripper. Harrison came from behind Dexter and handed a glistening bottle to Dexter. He rose the bottle up in the air and began talking in a harsh tone to the Ripper. Much to my surprise, Dexter smashed the bottle on the ground and the Ripper’s deep furious growl echoed in the dark. In sheer annoyance, he tried to grab Dexter but was prevented by the six betas who immediately blocked him from Dexter. I watched as the Ripper beat the living daylights out of the betas, flinging them in the air

Guilt
Blade’s POVI woke up panting and sweating profusely from head to toe. It had been over three months since I had dreamt of anything. No surprise that after such a long break, I would have a terrifying dream of being chased by my own wolf. The cold wind blew against my skin, sending chills down my spine. For the umpteenth time, I had slept on the bench outside Camila’s cottage. I stared at my phone and was astonished to see that it was five minutes past five in the morning. I couldn’t believe that I had been asleep for almost ten hours. Struggling to rise from the bench, I used my good hand to pick up my phone and the little journal beside me and then, I walked inside the cottage wincing from the arrow wound on my left shoulder. Going back inside turned out to be a bad decision as my skin reddened gradually due to the warmth of the house which wasn’t quite suitable for my extremely sensitive skin. I turned on the lights and saw Maia sleeping on the

Threatened
Emily’s POV There was no place in the world that I hated more than that shitty enormous building which we called our pack house. I hated everything about it, from the expensive floors to the high artistic ceilings and the gold portraits on the walls but to be honest, what I hated the most was the people in there. I hated the wide smiles on their faces, I hated the way they all acted like one big family and the way they took pleasure in trivial things like going hunting and joining stupid groups. My hatred for my pack began years ago, probably from the day I was born. Mum had always told me of how I cried nonstop when I was born and I so much wanted to tell her that it was because I hated what I saw and I had wanted to go back. The limousine stopped at the parking lot beside other cars and trucks. There was absolutely no doubt that we were one of the wealthiest families in the pack. Besides the Ferguson’s and Beta Harrison’s family, the Austins were at the t

Three Days of Possible Happiness
Alpha Blade POVMy eyes went to the wrist watch on my hand and I couldn’t help but notice that Emily was forty minutes late. A pint of beer was dropped on my table and when I looked up, my eyes met the stern eyes of the old lady that owned the coffee shop. “You shouldn’t have come here, Blade.” She said. “It’s too risky.” She was right, coming here or even replying Emily’s text was clearly dangerous but I really wanted to see her, to watch her eyes twinkle again and listen to her rant about the weather or explain the facial expressions of people around. She was quite the company and right now, that was something I needed. “I know but I stupidly trust her,” I said in a downcast tone. The old lady looked deep into my eyes as though she wanted to pry out information from me and then at last, she exhaled. “I have never known you to be such a lover boy.” I scoffed. “I have never seen this side of myself, either. These few days have made me come to realize

The Discussion
Emily’s PovI was so happy, relieved and excited and I couldn’t believe how today had taken a shocking turn from a livingnightmare to the best daydream ever. According to Blade, Mathilda was fine and was receiving treatments at the hospital which was a huge relief to my burdened mind but what actually pleased me the most was the fact that Blade was innocent of all the charges that had been placed on him. At least he had said that he hadn’t done them and I couldn’t doubt him because of how much I loved him. “Today is literally the best day of my life, everything has turned out perfectly. It seems too good to be true.” I said with extreme delight. “Mathilda’s fine and we’re also fine.” I saw something in his facial expression which drew my attention. The moment I had mentioned about us being fine, a sad look wafted through his entire face. “Why are you with that long face?” I asked. He smiled faintly. “Well, you’re right. We are fine, at least for now.”“What do you

Necessary Lies
Emily’s POV I walked out of the coffee shop after saying goodnight to the old lady. The time on my phone said ten minutes to eight and I knew that I was in real trouble as dinner time was by eight and there was no way that I could make it back on time. Blade was still talking to the old lady who appeared to be annoyed for reasons I had no idea of but that wasn’t even bothering me as I couldn’t get the thought of losing Blade out of my mind. The fear of it made me quite unsettled but it also gave me more determination to steal the necklace from Dexter. I looked up at the night sky and i made a silent prayer to the moon goddess. For the first time in my life, I had found someone that I could trust and confide in, someone whom I couldn’t let go of and I didn’t want to lose him. From behind, Blade wrapped his arms around me and looked up at the sky. “What are you doing?” “Staring at the stars,” I replied, unwilling to tell him that I was actually praying for

Trust??
Blade’s POVI knew that I should probably trust her but I couldn’t. Something about the whole story seemed off but I just couldn’t point out to what it was. So, I kissed her cold cheeks, her forehead and then her trembling lips before telling her goodnight. I felt very uneasy with everything she did. From the way her eyes lowered to how frequently she forced a smile and nodded her head in anxiety, I couldn’t help but wonder what was wrong. What was she lying to me about? What was she trying to hide from me? In spite of my worries, I kept my thoughts to myself and watched her carefully as she got into a cab and disappeared from my sight. I don’t know how long I stood there, motionless, looking at the spot she had been standing and replaying all her awkward actions and strange behaviors she had displayed this evening. I remained there until the old hands of the coffee granny gripped my shoulders, knocking me out of my thoughts. “Why are you standing here like a

Playing A Good Girl’s Role
Emily’s Pov My hands were shaking, my whole body was shivering and my breath was heavy and irregular. Unknown to me, I was gasping softly for air and the cab driver noticed it. “Are you alright, miss?” He asked, his eyes pinned on me through the rear mirror. “Yeah,” I nodded. “Can you breathe well or should I lower all the windows?” He asked, trying to help. “No, I’m alright.” I said with a cracked hazy voice, burying a sob underneath it. The cab driver was quiet for a while but I knew he still had something to say as his eyes met mine over and over again through the rear mirror. “That man that you were with,” He began. “What about him?” I asked. “Don’t mean to pry but… did he hurt you?” I was shocked by his question and he mistook my silence for a sign that I had been hurt. His hands went to his cellphone. “If he did, I can call the police. They might still be able to get him before…” “What makes you think that he hurt me?” I asked,

A Nerve-Wrecking Day
Emily’s POVMy heart was pacing so fast that I could hear it over Mum and Dad’s discussion. I took in deep breaths, drank two full bottles of water, attempted to meditate but yet nothing seemed to calm me down. My hands still trembled and I couldn’t help the heaviness of my breath. We were at the packhouse already and my parents were talking to other senior werewolves. I jerked back, yelping in fright when my mother touched my arm, drawing me back to reality. “Are you okay?” Mum and Dad asked chorally with genuine concern. Other senior wolves didn’t look bothered at all as they all wore mean smirks and scowls on their faces, expressing their undisguised disdain towards me. They all knew me as a malicious and mischievous kid who never went by the rules and who was prone to crimes and other silly shenanigans. Although they never spoke their mind to my own hearing—probably because they were scared of offending Alpha Dexter—I knew about their ill opinions

Three Questions
Emily’s POV “Pick up, pick up please,” I said, worriedly as I dialed Blade’s line repeatedly. “Come on… Please.” I was about five hundred meters away from the packhouse terrain, hiding under the canopy of a large shrub but I was still frightened. “Fuck!” I cursed, throwing the phone to the rough ground and watching it tumble before coming to rest on the wet root of an oak tree. Regretfully, I went over to the tree and picked my phone back up, wiping off the dirt and stain marks on it. Fortunately, it had only sustained a few cracks. Trembling from head to toe, I sat down with my back against the tough jagged bark of the tree, holding onto my phone like it was my only source of hope. I couldn’t remain here. I was certain that any minute from now, they’d find out that I was missing —that’s if they hadn’t found out already. I turned on my phone and then texted a message to Blade, telling him to meet me immediately at the coffee shop and that I had his necklac
