Ch. 41 Jesse
Jesse’s P.O.V. I saw Augustus travel out quickly, leaving a sleepy Ares on the bed. Ares' hair was sprawled all around the pillow with his neck in a funny position. I am sure he’ll wake up with pain and a cranky attitude because of it. He was not a morning person, so I decided to leave as well, not wanting to deal with his morning bitterness. I’ll send him a text later to thank him. I know he didn’t really need company last night, far from it. He probably could have used some alone time, but he did it for my sake.  Thanks for being there for me, Arie.  I grabbed my things from the room and headed to the showers. Running into Liam in the hall. The dorms are coed, but the rooms are not. The powers that be aren’t exactly keeping us separated, but they aren’t encouraging it either. He still looked so handsome, despite his hair sticking up in every direct

Ch. 42 Ares
Ares P.O.V. I woke up expecting to see Auggie and Jesse here. I honestly thought they would wake me, but neither of them did, and neither of them were anywhere in sight. They had silently slipped out at some point and I had no idea when. Futures began to play out before my eyes, only exasperating my headache. I groaned, rubbing the crick in my neck as I sat up. I looked at my phone and there were no messages from anyone.  The futures playing out before didn’t seem promising either. I got up, grabbing a long white band t-shirt, and some torn black jeans. I traveled to the showers, wanting to get in and out quickly, before everyone’s future plays out before me for the day. Thankfully, it seemed like most everyone was sleeping off their hangovers still. Everyone goes out and parties hard on Friday nights.  I traveled back to my room, checking to see if anyone had messaged yet. I had no

Ch. 43 Nova
Nova’s P.O.V.It’s cheating, but I totally used my healing fire to get rid of the pounding headache this morning. After a quick shower I was feeling refreshed and ready for the day. I dressed in a burgundy red sundress that hung around my shins. It was flowy and light, which was perfect for this summer heat. Although, what I was doing today, I had no idea. I didn’t really have any plans. I am, however, getting the nagging feeling that I am forgetting something, but I can’t quite place it.I felt pulled towards the willow tree. I am not sure what it was, but the image kept popping in my head. It was as if it was calling to me. Maybe it’s my elf magic, and the tree needs some assistance. Who knows, but I’m going to it. I opened the portal seeing Ares sitting back against the tree. He looked great in his band t and dark jeans with black sunglasses on. He was looking down at a little black pouch with a large smile. He had a clover in his hair, which made him look more inviting. I wonder

Ch. 44 Augustus
Augustus’ P.O.V. I was feeling guilty for being the worst brother in the world, until they announced they were going out together without me. Is it a date? Did he seriously ask her out? I can’t believe him. He won’t even help me with this vampire problem. I mean, yeah, I guess I can handle it, but it’s such a nuisance. “That’s fine. I’ll give it to you on Monday then.” I told him. I stood back up, not wanting to witness their romance any longer. Their fingers were interlocked and they were clearly having some sort of deep conversation before I came. The way they were staring at each other when I got here…they were having a moment. I clearly interrupted whatever this was. I could feel the jealousy rise in me. I need to stop it. She’s not mine. She never was. “Don’t leave yet. We have something to tell you.” Nova stopped me, as she noticed me getting ready to go. I don’t want to hear this though. I don’t want to hear them tell me they are dating now. It’ll hurt too much. “Whateve

Ch. 45
Nova’s P.O.V. “Hey, Nono. I didn’t know you were coming home this weekend.” Mom greeted me with my nickname. As a toddler I was always getting myself in trouble that mom would constantly have to tell me no when I would try to do something dangerous. She ended up just nicknaming me nono. I think it’s funny, and I’ve grown fond of the nickname. I have an amazing, caring, and kind mother. “Hey. I actually wasn’t, but something came up and I need help.” I saw her eyes glaze over for a moment, letting me know she was calling uncle Ash and then both my dads. She was quick to respond any time I told her I needed help. “Tell me what’s wrong?” She told me seriously, listening attentively. “It’s not about me.” I saw mom’s shoulders relax at the news of that. “Garbiel?” She tensed back up. I shook my head no, seeing her relax again. “Then who?” “Ares.” I almost whispered his name, still feeling so bad for him. I saw mom’s face stiffen. “Shi.t” She murmured. I knew this would hit her

Ch. 46 Jesse
Jesse's P.O.V. "I think it came out great!" Percy smiled, if he was in wolf form his tail would be wagging. I looked down at the atrocity we created. It looked like something a 5 year old with broken arms would make. This was not a sea turtle, not in the least. We quickly discovered you need shovels and buckets to make anything good in the sand. We were working with sand that was too dry to shape. "Are we looking at the same thing?" Liam asked him, staring down at our frankenturtle. "Of course!" Percy smiled excitedly. He's like a little puppy, I swear. "What do you think, Jess?" "I think he needs medical assistance." I remarked, making them both laugh. "I don't know what's wrong with you two. I think he looks great!" He snapped a picture of it on his phone. "That's going to be my new profile picture." "That'll be an improvement." Liam muttered, making me slap him in the chest. "Don't be mean." I scolded him. "No, he's right. Right now I have a picture of a sleeping L

Ch. 47 Ares
Ares’ P.O.V. "Okay it's a mal curse placed by a great witch." Lucy held a proud gleam in her eyes, happy to have figured it out. Her face dropped quickly as she realized the news was bad. "Breaking this curse is like a two step process. A ridiculously hard, two step process, that I won't be able to help with either. You'll need a great witch to break the curse. Only a great witch's magic can break another great witch's magic." "Okay. We can deal with that when the time comes. What's the two step process?" Ember asked, a look of deep determination set on her face. I don’t know why, but I wasn’t as panicked as I probably should be. I think it might be this bracelet that dad got me, or maybe the clover’s luck. I felt oddly happy. I saw how many people were here jumping to help the moment they heard the news. Lucy and I didn’t know each other that well, yet she came here in her large pregnant state to help me. "The first is removing the power of the great witch from the curse. There

Ch. 48 Augustus
“I’m not a sea witch.” Nova protested, scowling at the shark, not being the least bit intimidated. Shadows, seeing her be so fearless only has me falling deeper for her. “You smell like a bruja.” The shark remarked. “I’m not a witch.” Nova snapped back. I forget she can speak Spanish thanks to Toni. “You smell like one.” His raspy voice made it sound like he had eaten glass before coming here. I didn’t like the way he tried to intimidate her earlier. He was too close and I wanted to beat the shi.t out of him, but I knew I was at a disadvantage in the water. “What’s your problem, man. She’s not a sea witch!” I yelled at the shark, flailing my arms around. The shark shifted, looking more siren than shark now. His eyes adjusted to a dark stormy gray as his black shaggy hair fell to his collarbone. “Sorry I have really poor vision in my shark form. I could smell the scent of sea witch on you, and came to investigate. Especially since I smelled royal blood nearby too.” He explained

Ch. 49 Jesse
Jesse’s P.O.V. “Come walk with me?” Percy looked up at me from his now clean plate. I don’t know how he’s able to eat so much and still stay so fit. I’m one to talk though. I ate just as much as he did, if not more.  “Um, yeah, okay.” I shrugged, not really caring either way. A walk after all this food sounded just right though. Percy got up, leading the way to the river that runs through the pack lands. He knows how much I like listening to rushing water over rocks. The sun was high in the sky, barely past one o’clock now. I closed my eyes, focusing on the feeling of the breeze against my skin. Despite it being summer, the breeze was cool.   "You're very beautiful, Jesse." I opened my eyes to find a smiling Percy just staring at me.  "Don't be weird." I raised a brow at him, taking the lea

Ch. 50 Nova
Nova's P.O.V. We'd spent most of the afternoon at the pack lands, playing lawn games, participating in races and watching all out brawls. It was a great way to spend our time. I personally was glad that Percy thought of inviting us here. The moon festival seemed like fun and it was apparently a full week thing. Although, it gets a little too rated R for me on the last day.  It's when all unmated wolves participate in the hunt if they want. The males chase a female they like and lay claim to their carnal desires for the night. It made me blush when Percy explained what a hunt was for shifters. Apparently, vampires also have hunts of their own, but they usually end in taking the person back to their den and bonding them to the vampire. I certainly never want to be hunted. Metaphorically chased? Yes. Hunted? No! "It's getting late, we had better head to your mom's house." I told Ares, who was
