CHAPTER 20
IT WAS THE NEXT DAY when Stephenie was surprised to see Mrs. Morgan inside her room. Perry’s mother requested a nurse to assist Stephenie in a wheelchair so that she may come along with her to see Perry.  Mrs. Morgan remained completely silent throughout. She never mentioned anything else about Perry, leaving Stephenie puzzled and worried. And, as much as she wanted to inquire about it, she ultimately preferred to remain silent. Stephenie detected a distinct aura from her, prompting her to abandon her attempt to initiate a conversation about Perry. All of Stephenie's suspicions and thoughts were only confirmed when she saw Perry lying unconscious inside the intensive care unit room, aided by tubes and a life support machine. “No one told me he

CHAPTER 21
~ HADES ALDIONE~ “I have thoroughly searched and turned the entirety of Larkspur upside down, but I was unable to find any trace of that woman.” Thanatos made his way into Hades' living quarters and sat down on the cream couch that was adjacent to Hades' working table to ease his aching back. As soon as his eyes were closed, his free hand flew to his temple, and he began massaging it in a circular motion. Because Hades had instructed him to search for Rebecca, he had been deprived of sleep and was therefore exhausted. They have not seen the woman in over two months, and surprisingly, they have not found any leads on her whereabouts after she left the mansion. It has been nearly two months since they last saw her.Hades, who had been staring listlessly out

CHAPTER 22
When Hades and Thanatos finally made it to the front porch of Miguel's friend, it was already half past noon. It was just a modest apartment that was found right next to Apex's primary thoroughfare. The location seemed to be convenient given that it is only a few short blocks away from the city's commercial district. Thanatos rang the doorbell nearly three times before he decided to knock on the door. It appeared that the doorbell was broken. After a moment of short silence, he tried to make a few more knocks before a young boy opened the door to the apartment. “Charlie, why did you open the door!” A woman called out to the young boy. She ran hastily toward the door and was about to shut it when Thanatos put his foot in front of her to prevent her from doing so.

CHAPTER 23
The supposed to be less than an hour drive from Apex to Larkspur became less than thirty as told by Thanatos. They ran into traffic, but Thanatos was quick enough to switch to a different route, which shortened their journey significantly compared to what it normally would have been. Upon their arrival, Hades and Thanatos were immediately obstructed by Jaycee, who was very anxious about how to begin reporting the scenario to her boss. Jaycee was telling Hades about the current situation that was taking place inside of his office. However, before Jaycee could even begin to utter a single word, Hades' mother, Reis, emerged from the office with such a level of rage that it was visible in her eyes. She aimed them at Hades, and the expression on his mother's face gave him the impression that he was about to be set ablaze to

CHAPTER 24
“You!” Hades couldn’t put up the exact words immediately until he was able to come back to his senses. He continued by asking, “Who are you, exactly?” Hades was beyond dismayed to see a different woman and not Rebecca; in fact, he became furious at the sight of the other woman. He returned to his office quickly, all nervousness coursing through his body, only to arrive with this nonsense. His expectations were dashed once more when he discovered that the woman was not Rebecca as he had assumed. Even the woman seemed a little taken aback when she saw Hades. Before she could even get the words “This isn't right.” out of her mouth, she had to cover her mouth with her hands because she couldn't believe what was going on. &l

CHAPTER 25
THE FOLLOWING DAY, Thanatos greeted Hades first thing in the morning, having brought with him the news that he had been able to successfully schedule an appointment with Poseidon. “Why do you look so uncertain?” Hades told Thanatos while riding their way. “It sounded a bit strange. Poseidon is so easy to reach now compared to before. ” Thanatos gave his response. The choices he made with his words made it clear that he was harboring some uncertainty in his mind, which he was unable to conceal. “Shouldn't we just make the most of the opportunity that's been presented to us, seeing as how it seems to have given us leverage?” “You make such a big deal out of being

CHAPTER 26
Hades was brought in by the hotel manager to where he could find Poseidon. Because Hades could sense the staff's anxiety while they were on the wheels, the entire one-hour ride was bland and deafeningly boring for him from start to finish. Also, due to the actions of the personnel, Hades couldn't help but feel a little uneasy about the possibility that they would be involved in some sort of accident. He heaved a sigh and turned his attention away from him, instead, he focused it on the avenue of palm trees that was present outside as they made their way through the boozy tropical paradise that was suitable for pirates and poets alike in Miami, Florida.Although it's a long, slender, and almost entirely level state, Florida is anything but a one-note state thanks to its beautiful and peculiar peninsula. Drivin

CHAPTER 27
Hades paid no attention to the hotel manager and casually made his way inside while passing the reception desk. After a while, he stopped bothering to inquire with anyone else. He didn't waste any time and went straight to the elevator, where he dialed Thanatos' numbers once more. “Hello, have you learned it yet?” Almost immediately, Hades questioned him.“The tenth floor has a solo unit with an extension of the penthouse.  Poseidon typically plays there during these hours.” Thanatos's wordplay, which Hades attempted to ignore, was met with a light chuckle. One of the reasons why Hades told Thanatos to stay back was because it was intended for other things, and not just because he needed to fix their belongings. Thanatos was required to wait behind in order to gather info

CHAPTER 28
“Hades, I'll bet you already have an idea of what my take is on this subject.” Poseidon replied. Hades waited for Poseidon to continue speaking after he had patiently waited the next few seconds. “No, of course I won't be there. You just threw away fifteen minutes of your day chatting with me.” As he faced away from Hades, he uttered those words.“Well, I didn't.” Hades suddenly spoke up, prompting Poseidon to turn his gaze once more in his direction.“What do you mean?” After that, Poseidon inquired.“I came here to play with you, as I told you I would,” he said. Hades divulged these words to him in his mischievous manner.Poseidon couldn't help but look at his older brother, who was trying to tri

CHAPTER 29
Hades did not even give Poseidon the opportunity to finish his sentence before walking away and ordering one of Poseidon's men to prepare a table for them to sit at. After what seemed like only a few moments, Hades sat down in that spot and extended an invitation to Poseidon to join him.Poseidon, who was forced to make a decision and had no other options, eventually submitted and took a seat next to Hades.“What are we betting on?” Poseidon was the one who took the initiative to inquire. His words brought a grin to Hades' face for a moment. “I really like coming here.” His gaze wandered for a moment as he made this remark.Poseidon was aware that the snide comment was more than a simple compliment meant to expres
