Chapter 21
LYNEXIA Finally, I let my shoulder slump when the Elders, including those from Moonstone pack, leave the meeting roomI downcast my gaze to my fidgeting hands. "This isn't worth it. Making me your Luna isn't worth the trouble. It will cause more problems for you." Dimitri grabs my chin, his touch gentle yet ferocious. A gasp elicit from my mouth. Looking straight into his eyes I don't waver at the sight of warmth in them. "You are worth it. You are worth everything." The sincerity in his voice trickles down my skin. A frown etches on my face. "As an Alpha, the last thing you want is for your Elders to turn their backs against you." I say. "it's like digging your own grave.""I don't care." He growls. "I don't care what it will cause me to have you by my side." Inhaling deeply, I twist my chin out of his grip, his thumb lingering a beat too long on my lips before his hand falls. Unable to take it anymore, I blurt out. "I don't understand. Why are you doing this? What is your ulte

chapter 22
As I dip back into consciousness, I'm greeted by a throbbing ache at the side of my head. The familiar look of the library gradually comes into view as the pain spreads from my head down to my toes. I let out a low groan of agony. As confusion swims over my head, I scan the library anxiously for what the hell just hit me. "Welcome back." A feminine voice licks the back of my neck.I snap my head back in an unnatural angle causing a muscle to pull my back with a sharp pain. Shit. I lift myself to my feet with so much difficulty before turning in the direction of the voice. My hand curls into a fist when I come in contact with the culprit, anger rolling in waves through my body. Elena. She stands before me, draped in a long satin gown, her blonde-white which mirrors mine cascading down her shoulder like rainfall. Her lips are thinned into a sneer as if my mere presence irritates her. "I was hoping you wouldn't wake up." She sighs nonchalantly, blowing her fingernails that almost r

Chapter 23
The tensive, suffocating air hung heavy around Elena and Lynexia as I walked in, contrary to what they claimed. I knew something went down between them that I wasn't aware of but I didn't push further after Lynexia snapped. I could have but it would have erupted into a blumerage and I wanted to stay clear of that. The moment me and Lynexia step out of the library, I ask. "Did you enjoy your tour?" She doesn't dignify me with a word, she just nods sharply."You know I built this library for you. I know you always love to read. You can come here anytime you want." I say and I mean it. The library was specially made for Lynexia. That is why I named it after her but she doesn't seem to have taken notice. "It was named after you." This time she doesn't say a word nor does she respond. She acts like I am invisible. Lynexia gets away with a lot of things anyone else won't and she doesn't even know it. "I'd like to introduce you to the trainee instructors responsible for the smooth runnin

I step out the Alphahouse with my hand clenched tightly around the cold metal of the screw. Waves of anger and spite crash over me mingling with the ruthless lash of the heavy rain against my face and skin like a whip. I made a vow before returning to the shadow pack, a promise to myself and Felicity. I swore not to let anymore trample over me again. Yet, since setting foot into the shadow pack's territory, I have become nothing more than a weakling. From the elders to the members of the pack, I have let everyone treat me like filth, though I vowed against it. Elena's disrespect was the final blow, proving that I was nothing more but a weakling. I can't even hold a fight against her. Not only am I weak but my wolf is rebelling against me. She lay dormant when I beckoned to her as if punishing me for hiding her away like a dirty secret for five straight years. I bristle when I remember how things went down between me and Elena. My breathing comes in ragged gasps, my chest is rising

chapter 25
No one really knows wasn't exactly sure I was born under the fire moon but due to my awful reactions to cold everyone assumed. I glance over my shoulder and she understands immediately. "Alpha." She says with a nod. "Go to your room. I will make you something warm for you." I head toward my room—it feels weird to call it mine again after moving out following my marriage with Dimitri—while Julianne veers in the direction of the kitchen. Sinking into the bed, I release a soft sigh. Shortly after, Lyn walks in, a teacup in one hand and a folded cloth in another. I thank her as she hands me the tea and puts the cloth beside me. I take a slow sip, liking how the warm, low-sugar liquid soothes my inside. I gulp down the rest of the tea greedily, ignoring the slight burn as it went down my throat. Even my wolf cooed inside of me. She is still in me, I can feel her, she is just been deviant against me as payment for keeping her hidden. When I set the cup down on the nearby table, Julianne

Only when I confirm Lia is safe does everything crumble around me. I stagger back a little from the impact of the realization. The rain has stopped but my clothes are already soaked wet and my hair plastered to my forehead. Unlike Lyn, cold isn't a problem of mine. In fact, my wolf thrives in it. I was born on the day of the ice moon. Lyn despises me. Her hatred for me runs so deep, that she will take her life than endure any moment with me. The past week rushes back to me like a feral blow. The venom and poison in her eyes when she looks at me. The spite in her voice when she talks to me. It hurts deep into my bones to witness the eyes and voice that once showed you love to turn to this and I know I deserve it. Every ounce of what I get from her, I deserve it. My hopes were once high—fueled by arrogance—. I was certain that I could repair whatever was shattered between us. But today shatters the illusion. Now, I am so uncertain about mending what ya wrong between me and Lynexia. I

My shoulder slumps when I flip the door open and it turns out to be Julianne. "Oh, Alpha," Julianne says, her voice holding no hint of surprise. It isn't rare for me to be at Gavin's place. She glances past me probably searching for Gavin then she turns her gaze back to me. "Will you and Gavin like to join us for breakfast?" Us—she and Lynexia. "Yes, sure," I reply to her quickly. I won't miss a chance to see Lynexia. Besides, I have been so worried about her because of the cold. Her wolf hates cold so much. And I already miss her face even if it's just scowls and glares I will get from her. I make use of the remnant ginger tea Gavin asks to make Lynexia some tea since it's her favorite and it keeps her warm. Five minutes later, I'm dragging Gavin off the bed and out of the house. He curses me as I move us across the street and into Julianne's house. Lynexia is in the living room of the house when we arrive. Gavin waves sheepishly and she answers him absentmindedly. "Hey, Gavin

chapter 28
I'm doomed. From the moment Julianne holds her knife so feebly, I know our training is doomed. There are only three people who can tolerate me enough to train me in combat. Gavin being the first, is busy. Dimitri, well, I hate him and even I can't tolerate his presence. And that leaves me with Julianne. When I first informed Julianne that she would train me in combat, she gaped at me and told me she didn't think she was the right person for it, but as the good, positive radiating girl that she is I was able to convince her otherwise and she agreed and convinced herself and me—barely— that she could do it. I rub my thumb on the pack of my forehead where an ache is starting to form from watching Julianne fumble a knife in her hold. There is nothing difficult about holding a knife but I doubt she can do that. What I have seen Julianne do so far is enough to conclude that she isn't fit to train me in combat but I still hold on to a flimsy hope because she is my only option. When I c

Seraphina is extolling about a new technological advancement for trainees when my phone screen lit up with Lynexia's name—that I store with a butterfly emoji—.Alarm blares in my head as I stare at my phone screen Lynexia never calls me except if absolutely necessary and I am the last person she will turn to for help.. She doesn't answer my call either. She point-blank ignores it. I snatch my vibrating phone from the table, my fingers hovering over the screen as I swipe to answer. The moment Lynexia's sobs drift into the speaker, I jolt to my feet, marching across the room even before asking any questions. Fear, cold and heavy tightens around my throat like an unyielding vise. "Where are you?" I question. "Dimi..." Her voice trails off into strings of messy sobs. Seraphina isn't speaking anymore and Zarek who is also in the conference room gives me a questioning glance. But I don't have time for an explanation. "The meeting is over," I speak over my shoulder before I bolt the

I can tell Lynexia's hatred towards me is back with full force when I show up at Julianne's doorstep three days later. As the door swings open, a scowl etches into her cheekbones at the sight of me. She isn't a bit pleased to see me. I guess, it was good while it lasted. I enjoyed the company of vulnerable Lynexia and now she was gone back to the brooding Lynexia who won't hesitate to cut my balls off if she is given the golden opportunity. She rubs the space between her eyebrows. "Oh goddess, what are you doing here, Dimitri?" Her voice bites out my name like a curse. Her gaze sizes me up before sliding to Gavin standing right behind me. "Oh Gavin, it's always a pleasure to see you." Her lips curve into a smile but her eyes remain icy. Gavin grumbles a word behind me but I don't catch the words. "What about me?" I point a finger at myself, feigning hurt. "Aren't you pleased to see me?" "It's an eyesore to see you, always." Her response is swift. I lean in, teasing. "I can't
