Disbelief churned through me as I was not sure his hand moved. I looked up at him and he was still unconscious. Was I losing my mind? Or was I imagining things?

Regardless, I held his hands still, occasionally placed kisses on it and waiting for any change but there was nothing. I was a little worried as several hours had passed yet he was still unconscious. My mind drifted off to Jake. He definitely could have done this. I doubted if there is anyone else who could have shot him with a poisoned arrow. Only Jake could. I tried so hard to visualize who the traitor in the pack could be but no image formed in my head.

At that point, I believed I had it all figured out. Whoever it was that was working for Jake and Selene had been the one that had somehow gotten my food poisoned. He or she had informed that the Alpha was not present hence the reason for them coming once again and wanting to attack him. I was however baffled.
