Chapter 9 I’m Not Afraid Of Zombies

Lucas was a little suspicious. He thought Mia was probably a martial artist from Annan Base City. Why would she appear here? Those Awakened Ones too.

“In response to your question, we came to Copper City for training.”

After saying this, Mia lowered her head.

“Training?”

Lucas understood now. No wonder there were no zombies on the street when he was at the hospital. They had probably been lured away by these sheltered children.

“How many of you have come for training?” Lucas asked again.

“A total of over twenty people. We never thought there would be so many zombies in East District. Five of us ran out. I don’t know how they’re doing.”

There were still some remnants of fear on Mia’s face, as if she could not believe that everything she had experienced was real.

“They’re all dead. There’s not a single bone or scrap left of them.”

“Huh?”

Mia’s eyes widened, and her blanched face became frighteningly white.

Those people who died were her classmates. They had snuck out to come to Copper City for training this time because their school’s teachers did not allow them to come here.

Now she was incomparably regretful. If she could redo it, she would absolutely ensure her classmates did not come to Copper City.

“What ‘huh’? If not for you encountering me, you would’ve met the same end they did,” Lucas said slowly.

Having said this, Lucas seemed to have thought of something. He looked at Mia and said, “Just now, you said there are a lot of zombies in East District?”

“Yes, sir.”

Mia was a little suspicious. She did not understand why Lucas would ask this.

Lucas smiled. What he was afraid of now was that there were not many zombies.

“In that case, show me the way. Let’s go to East District.”

Hearing this, Mia was so shocked that her spirit left her body.

“Sir, you… You want to go to East District?”

Mia felt she must have misheard. She had just experienced life and death at East District. How could she dare to go?

“Yeah, I want to go to East District.” Lucas nodded.

“But sir, there are too many zombies in East District.”

Mia wanted to dispel Lucas’s thoughts of going to the East District. Fundamentally, she was being kind.

“I’m not afraid of zombies,” Lucas said without a care.

Mia saw that Lucas had set his heart on going to East District, but she had just escaped death and ran for her life from East District. How could she possibly want to go back?

She thought about how many of her classmates died in the East District—how could she explain this when she returned to Annan?

Mia was currently in great conflict!

“What’s the matter? You don’t want to show me the way?” Lucas looked at Mia.

Mia started. “No, sir, I’m just…

“I’m just hungry and thirsty. I don’t have a single bit of strength left.”

Mia could only say this. She wanted Lucas to be aware of the difficulties and retreat, but she was not lying either. She really was hungry and thirsty now.

“Eat up.”

After saying this, Lucas retrieved a box of food from the System Space.

Lucas opened the box of food. There was bread and milk in it.

Mia’s eyes widened. She stared at the bread and milk in the box, shocked.

She did not understand how Lucas did this. She clearly remembered Lucas did not have this box of food earlier.

However, Mia could not care that much at this moment either. She had run here from East District in one go and had long gotten hungry and thirsty.

She took up the bread and milk, starting to eat and drink up.

“Mmph, so tasty!”

Lucas smiled. In this city overrun by zombies, it was not easy to get to eat bread and milk. However, this Mia was from Annan Base City and was naturally a different story.

“Now you can take me to East District, can’t you?”

Lucas watched Mia. ‘Now that you’ve eaten and drunk, you should take me there.’

Mia had busied herself eating and forgotten this matter. He had scratched her back, so she had to scratch his. She could only agree.

“All… Alright then.” Mia nodded.

Soon, Mia started leading Lucas toward the East District.
