5.Humilated

The hatred and dislike she saw in the eyes of the people around left her speechless, she was used to this kind of treatment from the friends of the Leej and Davison but those disgust looks from strangers left her speechless. She knew they hated her because of the things her family told them about her. On a few occasions, she happens to hear a few of those things said about her and they were not pleasant to the ears at all.

“What is she doing here?”

“Look at how poor she’s dressed, are you all sure that she’s a Davison?”

“How can she be a Davison, look how graceful Linda is compared to her. She looks like a thug!”

“I can’t believe she wanted to steal her own older sister’s fiancé! I heard her birth mother was the same as her but dead giving birth to her. The Davisons were kind enough to adopt her but alas the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”

“How dare her show her face here”

“That’s so ungrateful of her to attempt to bite the hands that are feeding her. I heard she works as an escort!”

“ But she’s very pure and innocent looking! I was told she packed and left the house instead pleading to be forgiven by her sister for wronging her!”

Alice heard all the mutters around her but kept her head held high with such confidence that the onlookers marveled at it. This was why they called her here. This was the show they truly wanted. They wanted to make a mockery of her again whilst their golden child is showered with praises.

Linda and her mother were very pleased with the reactions Alice was getting from the crowd. They want to reduce her nothing and they have just the plan to do that.

Linda saw the signal her mother gave her and rushed to hug Alice with a big smile plastered on her face.

“Sister you are here, why did you leave the house? You know daddy was just angry. You shouldn’t have left like you did. I-I spent all morning looking for you everywhere. Are you okay? have you eaten?”, Linda asked anxiously to portray the amazing big sister she has been to Alice. Linda smirked and rested her head on Alice neck.

Alice didn’t know how to behave in the tight situation she was presented with. If she pushes her away from herself, she will appear evil and ungrateful. Not that cares of their opinion because they already think worse of her but she cared about what her father thought of her after all, he was her only living relative.

She gritted her teeth and allowed Linda hug her with a soft smile on her face.

“This is just the beginning bitch!, I will take everything from you like your mother did to my mother. I will cause you hundred times of the pain my mother went through because of your mother. Welcome to the beginning of hell for you.” She stood unmoving as she heard Linda whisper softly into her ears with a fake smile plastered on her face.

She turned slowly to look at Linda and saw her smiling brightly whilst holding her hand like they were best friends having a great conversation.

Alice allowed her to dragged her to the dining room and shoved her into a seat just opposite that of Matthew.

“Maids! bring her food and accompany it with her favorite juice.” Linda said with a wink to the maids and they completely understood what she wanted them to do.

Alice stole a glance at her father and saw his glare pointed at her and she was buffled, “why can’t you be like your sister who loves you so dearly, even when you drugged and seduced her soon to be fiancé, she still went out all night searching for you. She begged me all night to bring you back because you are homeless and alone.

Today is her engagement day, although you’ve betrayed her, she still wanted you around to celebrate the day with her. Why can’t you be so sweet and gentle or at least have a kind heart like your mother and sister. I will only let you back into this house if you promise to apologize to Linda publicly and turn over a new leaf.”

He started coughing so hard due to his anger, “dad don’t be so angry, it is not good for your health, baby sister doesn’t mean to worry you too much. She just loves Matthew too much and want him for herself and I understand that. I’m willing to leave Matt for her but it is Matt that is unwilling to let me go. Please understand baby sister”, Linda muttered with tears in her eyes making her look very pitiful.

As Linda spoke, the people gathering admired her especially as she stared a Alice with love but none knew she really loathe Alice within, as for Alice she stared at her own family with indifference. The treatment she was getting from them wasn’t new to her but the acting skills of Linda seems to have improved because she will surely believe her if she didn’t know the truth herself.

Linda spoke as if defending Alice but she put her down and made her seem desperate, Alice smiled bitterly and thought to herself,’so once again I’m the bad guy again and she is the good one. One day, I hope the story line will change in my favor’.

She smiled sadly, she didn’t know that to their father saw her not to be good enough as compared to Linda. Initially, he had been the only one in the family that she had always slightly depended on but looking at the disgust and hatred she saw on his face, she came to the conclusion that she was truly an orphan.

Mr Jacob Davison was very please with his older daughter and patted her head with affection and gave Alice a disappointed look, “you see what I’m talking about, your elder sister is an angel like her mother and from the way your behaving, I think you took after yours too” he murmured the last sentence so only Davisons who were close will hear it but some other people heard it and soon whispers and mutters was all over the room.

Alice heart broke at the finally blow thrown at her her by her father. She put her spoon down, the food tasted like sand dust to her in the beginning hence she wasn’t even enjoying it but now it tasted like sand in her mouth. She got up and with a eerie smile she spoke elegantly.

“Thanks a lot for dinner but I will be on my way now”. With that she turned her back went towards the open door.

Jacob felt a bit of remorse for what he said but it was too late, “stop there you ingrate, come back here! I will disown you if you walk out of that door!”, Jacob exclaimed angrily. Alice paused midway and controlled her tears that were threatening to fall anytime soon.

“I was already disowned by you from birth. I was just trying to convince myself other wise but I’m done!”, Alice replied with turning to face them.

Alice kept walking forwarding till she left the mansion with bloodshot eyes filled with warm tears.

Linda was delighted but pretended to be sad for the seek of the people around and that earned her lots of praise.

“Dad? You shouldn’t have scold her you did. You know she’s still a teenager. Please forgive her”, she voiced out sadly but Jacob rather scoffed and left to his room.

She called one of the house helps and whispered secretly into her ears, “did you do as you were told?”

“Yes young mistress, the medicine was put in both her juice and food”, Leticia replied with a blush non her face.

She laughed happily “good good good, tell the guys to go after her. The medicine will take effect immediately but tell them not to room Matthew ordered. Take her to this room instead, I have a surprise waiting for her in there”, she uttered with a pleasing smile.

She laughed evilly in her head as she handed a paper containing a new room she booked before coming home.

‘So Matthew was actually expecting me to share him with Alice, he dare to even tell me that he wants to be one to deflower her whilst he didn’t meet me a virgin. What an insult to me! So because I was not a virgin before he met me, he want me to make it up to him by giving him Alice to deflower. Ha! I will send her to someone else and tell him the guys couldn’t find her after she left the mansion. She won’t be so lucky as to have someone my Matthew deflower her, I will pay some low life to do it’. She went through her evil plans in her mind with a smirk.

Feeling proud of herself, she went back to the party as if nothing happened. Nina saw her daughter come in with a cheerful smile. She excused herself from the group of executives she was entertaining and went to stand beside Linda.

She asked in a lowly voice that only Linda could hear her, “is it done Linda?”

“Of cos mother, that girl will wish she never messed with us and she will curse her stars and that bitch of a mother for being born into this family.” Linda muttered angrily with passion. There was more reasons for her hatred towards Alice and it wasn’t merely because her mother had an affair with her father.

Nina smiled, winked at her and joined the party to rejoice and celebrate their success.

An apple indeed doesn’t fell far from a tree, but mother and daughter were so delighted that they’ve finally managed to hurt Alice. That was an opportunity they were not willing to miss the opportunity of hurting Alice where it hurt the must.

What more, they intended to make her a topic of ridicule to the public and humiliate her till she leaves M city. But alas! they shouldn’t have counted their chicks before the eggs hatched.
