The smile disappeared from my mother's face.

"Don't be funny, Elroy. I heard she was as small as a cat. She's not even as tall as 100-year-old Shirley..."

"I know, Mom, but my Wolf claimed she was my mate. I was just as shocked as you were when I heard the news."

"But she's so small. How can she marry you? How can she have a baby with you?"

"That's why I came to you," I said, helping my alarmed mother into a chair. "I wanted to ask you, do you know of any way to make her body as big as ours?"

Instead of answering my question directly, my mother looked me in the eye and asked, "Elroy, tell me, do you really like her?"

"Yes, I like her." I nodded firmly.

"Do you see her as a playmate or a lover?"

"I don't know. All I know is, from the first moment I saw her, I wanted to be with her forever. I don't want to be separated from her for a second."

My mother was silent for a long time, judging by the struggle on her face that she was making a difficult decision.
