Chapter 35

Mia's POV

I walked through the bustling streets of the city, my mind filled with thoughts of the past and the memories I had left behind. It had been years since I had last seen him, my childhood sweetheart, and now, out of the blue, he had re-entered my life. I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and apprehension as I made my way to the café where we had agreed to meet.

As I entered the café, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee enveloped me, and I scanned the room, searching for his familiar face. And there he was, sitting at a corner table, his eyes fixed on his phone. A rush of emotions flooded over me as I approached him, unsure of what to expect.

"Hey," I greeted, my voice filled with a mixture of nervousness and curiosity.

He looked up, his eyes meeting mine, and a warm smile spread across his face. "Mia," he said, his voice filled with a hint of nostalgia. "It's been so long."

I slid into the seat across from him, unable to hide the mixture of emotions bubbling within me.
