I never expected my life to take such a dark turn. It started innocently enough—a series of anonymous messages, each one more sinister than the last. At first, I dismissed them as mere pranks, the work of an overzealous admirer or a misguided jokester. But as the threats escalated and the incidents became more frequent, a sense of unease settled deep within me.

One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon and darkness enveloped the city, I found myself alone in our spacious penthouse. Nathaniel was away on a business trip, and the solitude amplified my anxiety. The weight of the threats pressed upon me, making every creak and rustle of the old building seem ominous.
