Pregnancy hormones

The chairman was correct, he has always hated Ferguson treating him like trash when he was older than ferguson.

When Peter, Clyde's father was alive, he was at the verge of taking over the company but death took him away before he could even sign the papers. Years later and it was time for Clyde to be the Ceo and owner of the company but it didn't work out since he had refused to get married and have a child.

And now Matthew, Clyde's uncle who was supposed to be the Ceo of the company handed it over to his son Ferguson, who was now the present Ceo of the company.

Ever since Ferguson became the Ceo and Clyde the managing director who worked under him, it was never easy for Clyde since going to work everyday suddenly became like stepping on fiery charcoal. Was it humiliation publicly? Embarrassment? Or curses? Clyde endured all of it throughout the years.

It was a fair game but too fair that it slapped Clyde's so hard on the face. He had a reason for not wanting to get married but his grandfather just wouldn't understand him.

Letting out a sigh he spoke nonchalantly“He should come home, I haven't seen him in a long time anyway.” Clyde himself was irritated by his words. Not having ferguson around for a month felt like a month in Arizona for him and now Ferguson was coming back to torture him?

After spending a little time with his grandfather, Clyde took the initiative and returned back to his villa. When he reached home it was already evening. He quickly had a warm bath and returned to the kitchen to whip something for himself.

Not knowing why, Clyde seemed bothered and did not have much of an appetite. Perhaps the conversation with his grandfather was the cause of it.

“Are you alright Mr Adric? Do you not have any appetite tonight?” Norton asked slowly as he watched Clyde holding a fork of spaghetti but didn't put it inside his mouth.

He was with Clyde tonight, just like every other night when he watched him eat before going to bed. That was how it has always been throughout the years of working with him, since Clyde had always hated to eat alone.

Lifting his brows and letting out a deep sigh, Clyde looked up at his assistant “Yeah...I guess so.” he let out a sniffed smile.

Norton watched the expression on Clyde's face and noticed that something must have happened, so he opened his mouth to say something but Clyde caught him off guard.

“You should go home now, it's getting late and I don't have much of an appetite tonight to make you stay.” Clyde's response came out very low. In addition, he was extremely calm.

Norton knew too well that once he left the house, his boss was going to sleep on an empty stomach. However he felt a bit sad about it but there was nothing he could do.

After mulling over for a while, he finally left and as usual the house became empty, having only Clyde in it as he stared into space.

Soon it was Monday again and Amelia struggled to wake up early, since she had been sleeping overly long whenever she had the slightest chance of dozing off. Perhaps her pregnancy was the cause of it all.

Stepping out of her small sized bed, she headed to the bathroom for a shower. After what took like forever, she was finally out and stood in front of the mirror staring at her bare stomach.

“I just have until tonight to decide whether to keep you or not.” she rubbed her stomach slowly and added “I just hope I made the right decision.”

Letting out a faint smile, she quickly prepared for work and went downstairs for breakfast. Amelia entered the kitchen and saw her grandfather preparing the table, as he placed their plates on the table carefully.

Whoever would know him in the past, would definitely know that he was a cook who owned a small restaurant back in the days when he went to college. However he was getting old but his food still tasted exquisite just like when he was younger.

Having seen him preparing the table, Amelia stopped walking and only stood by the door watching her grandfather in silence. She smiled when the pleasant sight in front of her reminded her of the past when she was a child.

She could still vividly remember the day that she had lost her mother to cancer and that was when this old man and his late wife appeared to take care of her. At first she never liked them but gradually she came to love them so much. But now, she had loved this man more than she loved herself for the past fourteen years he had taken care of her.

“Would you stop staring at your grandpa and have breakfast instead?” Her grandfather's voice came out loud, jerking her out of her thoughts.

Without a word spoken, she walked over to her grandfather and placed a kiss on his cheek before settling down to have breakfast. Soon they started to eat and Amelia stuffed so much food inside her mouth, that she began to choke.

“Ahem! You should eat slowly or else I will take the food away!” the old man scolded his granddaughter as he rubbed her back gently.

Amelia's vision was suddenly blurred with tears and she bit hard on her bottom lips before she turned to her grandfather “Thank you grandpa and I'm sorry, the food is just too delicious for a hungry lion like me.” she sniffed in.

In the past she would take little of her breakfast and leave for work ignoring her grandfather's complaints, but now she was eating like a hungry beast who had been starving for years.

“What is wrong with me? Why am I eating a lot like a hungry lion? Could it be because...” Amelia was immersed in her own thoughts but the scream of her grandfather brought her back to reality.

The old man saw Amelia's cheek which was stained with tears and couldn't help but exclaim “Amelia, why are you crying?!”
