CHAPTER 92
Jaida marveled at the scenery before her. Everything about this planet was different, and she loved being able to experience it. She was starting to wonder if this was all real or just a dream. After all, no one would believe her if she told them about this world. It was kind of nice knowing that she was the only human ever to come to here…as a guest, anyway. The Deslyans had obviously seen a human before. She began to wonder if they saw them often or not. They fed off emotion, right? Maybe that was just a delicacy. Maybe there was something else they ate during the times they didn't have a human handy.

Jaida's smile fell just a bit more. She knew how hard it was. She loved her parents dearly, and she had wanted them to stay together so badly. It had really hurt knowing that she was powerless to fix her broken family unit. Lira quickly noticed the change in Jaida's expression, and her own softened greatly."Oh Jaida, I'm sorry," she told her honestly. "It must be hard." Jaida only nodded, lowering her head to avoid Lira's eyes. After all, she didn't need to be seen with tears in hers. She was amongst a strong, independent race. Arius was soon only a few feet away from Lira, who was standing there, watching her children play with Jaida. They were thoroughly enjoying themselves. As they walked, they were probably receiving even more stares than when Jaida had just been walking behind. After all, Arius was their savior, the man they all loved and honored, and here he was, walking with a lowly human. However, he didn't seem ashamed of her at all. If anything, he pulled her closer, as if making a point. Maybe one day the Deslyan race wouldn't be so closed off towards humans. Maybe they'd come to realize that their races weren't that different. Sure, Earth had its problems, but Desy did as well. If only their worlds could merge. They would have the beauty of Earth and the comfort of Desy, a beautiful world with no problems. Jaida pushed open the door to her house, taking off her shoes and setting down her book bag. She just sighed as she went into the living room and plopped down on the couch. Jaida glanced around a little, wanting to find a way to see the battle better. Her eyes soon caught sight of a fire escape that led to the top of the building. She ran to it, and out of curiosity, Mr. Owens followed."Up here," she told him as she began climbing. "We'll be able to see better." Arius snapped to attention as Jaida cried out after colliding with the ground for a second time that night. For now the thought of his bleeding arm was pushed to the back of his mind. He had to make Lucius pay for hurting Jaida. The angel was currently preparing to throw his sword downwards, aiming it at her. Arius wasn't about to allow something like that to happen.Just as Lucius began preparing to throw his sword like a spear, Arius came up behind him and grabbed it, his hand locking around the red and silver blade. When his sight finally adjusted, he found that he was standing in the park in Jaida's city. It was dark, the stars painting the night sky above. It was beautiful, but he wasn't focusing on that. His eyes were currently wide with horror, because what he saw wasn't in any way a portrait of beauty. On the ground before him was Jaida, lying limply on the soft green grass. However, something was horribly wrong. She was as still as death, and it was hard to miss the reason. Four bloody gashes were open across her chest, ranging from her neck to her waist. There was no doubt in Arius' mind as he stared at her pale form. She was dead.Arius began backing away slowly, confused and terrified.
