Nathan's departure left a palpable void in the house. Adele clung to him, reluctant to let go, as he bid her farewell. I stood by the door, watching them with a bittersweet smile. As Nathan stepped out into the sunlight, he turned to look back at us, a final wave of goodbye. One would think he was leaving forever with how slow he walked.
