2.37- Can't Love Me

His eyes met hers for a long moment, changing color as he thought about it.

"I'm not going to let it happen."

"What if it already happened?"

But he was moving away from her. Not physically, but emotionally. She could see it in the tightening of his expression, the tension in his shoulders. This is a battle she cannot win.
