Chapter 13: A Lamb Amongst the Wolves

The moment Irene turned around, Edmond pounced on me. He pressed me against the car seat and kissed me. This position made his kiss deeper than ever before. I felt like I could barely breathe.

I wanted to resist because my tongue had been numbed by Edmond's kiss, almost to the point of unconsciousness, but I was afraid that Irene would hear the commotion in the car and lean over to check. She was already less than five feet away from the car.

There was no other scenery outside the car window, only the pink color of Irene.

I was almost afraid to breathe for fear of attracting Irene's attention. Edmond, however, acted as if no one was outside the car. He unbuttoned the top two buttons of my shirt, exposing a large part of my collarbone.

Edmond kissed my collarbone, occasionally making kissing sounds when his lips touched my skin. I thought the sound was so loud that it could penetrate the car window and was clearly in Irene's ears.
