Chapter 21: The Truth Right in Front of Me

I was bothered by everything my father revealed. I couldn't get the images from that video out of my mind. I needed to find a way to prove whether or not it was all true, but how?

It seemed like it was all but impossible to get help through the Stone Forest Pack, and I had no other alternatives. I couldn't just rush up and say, "Edmond, my father said that you lied to me and used me. Is that true?"

Oh, Goddess, how silly! If I tried that, he would definitely think I was crazy. I laughed a little at myself just thinking about it and finally began to feel a little better.

I heard a knock on the door and was startled. It was late so who could it be at this time? I sat up and called out, "Please come in."

Edmond walked casually through the door with a fruit basket. I looked at the fruit basket in his hand in surprise and couldn't believe my eyes. "Is that for me?"

He seemed to be confused by the question, but he quickly smirked and placed the fruit basket on the cabinet beside the bed
