50- "Believing in you..."

I didn’t want to argue with Fabio or make any fuss, so, submissively, I put the drawing pad on the table as well as my pencil and left them. I walked and sat at the dining table to eat.

But before I could touch the utensils, I never forgot about his presence and, of course, my hospitality since he was my guest at the moment.

“Come on and join me, Sir. Let’s eat these foods together,” I invited him with a light, genuine smile.

“Thanks, but no thanks. I’m done eating,” he responded, and then he returned to the couch and sat there.

It was discouraging that he couldn't come along, but what could I do? I'm not the type to coerce anyone into joining me at the meal.

Up to him, though. I shrugged my shoulders and started enjoying the meals served right before me.

“I believe your works of art are professional enough just to be given free for a friend. I must guess you are well-compensated for this, aren’t you?” Fabio spoke as he once again stared at my drawings on the table in front of him.
