She managed a giggle resting her head against his chest,

‘I think it is a little late for that but thank you’

He licked her ears and looked down at her,

‘I know it is early days for us but I promise to step up and be a Father to you now. I cannot make up the time I have lost but I can make our future if you will let me?’

Atalanta leaned her body against his feeling the power and strength in his solid body, she felt safe and for the first time in her life she felt validated. This was who she was, this was where she belonged resting her head against his chest she listened to his great heart beating steadily,

‘I love you Papa’

Her voice melted his soul,

‘I love you to my daughter’

They stayed like that finally united as the sun set and the world stilled settling for the night, an hour later the great King stood up and led his sleepy daughter into his den. They shifted and he picked her up and laid her on his bed covering her gently then sat in the chair beside her and watched her sleep.
