Chapter 4

The elders shivered greatly, everyone was at a loss for what to do. Avarez looked at each of them gravely before walking past them. He knew he had messed up things but he had warned before time to not get into his bad books, but they just had to pick today of all days to start a drama.

He was already badly pissed about the disappearance of the blue-haired girl for some unknown reason, and now, he had to deal with the aftermath of his actions.

He took large strides into his room and plopped down on the bed with a tired sigh. He thought back to the moment he ripped out the heart of Haku, he regretted his actions immediately but the demon inside him was just not content with one heart, he needed another.

He tried controlling the urge, but his wolf was on the edge. He couldn't risk his wolf having to battle with the demon inside for space, it would be cruel to his wolf knowing he wasn't strong enough. He released another sigh and called Derek into the room.

Derek knew Avarez had been thinking again judging from the number of times he had sighed after he called for him. If only there was a way to stop his rampage, but who would have thought Selene, the moon goddess was in favour of this too?

"You know what to do, Send them in now" With that being said, Avarez stood up to undo his rope when a slight noise catchy his attention.

He turned around and found Derek fidgeting, he knew Derek, he never fidgeted unless whatever was happening was beyond him

"Spill it already" Avarez turned back and continued undressing, he was already exhausted, he just needed to be done and over with today.

"Alpha, we are running low on supply for the problem at hand " Derek knew Avarex would be angry but there was nothing he could do for now unless more time was given to him. The Alpha had already exhausted all the items brought to him, there was nothing left in the storage for him to make use of.

Avarez thought he was going to lose his sanity after hearing what Derek had to say, but he couldn't blame him at that point because he knew deep down he usually passed the limit for every night but what could he do, it was the urge of the demon inside and sooner or later, he was going succumb to the urge.

Avarez walked to him and held his shoulders. "As you can already see, I am very hanging on there, so you better go out and get me what I want" After a short pause, he continued. "I don't care if it's the maids you will be using, just send someone before I lose my mind"

"Yes, Alpha" Derek's reply at that moment wasn't the best of his replies. Sending a maid to go through such trauma that he was not sure they would make it out alive was just pure wickedness to him. He never felt it before now because the people he usually sent were not people of good standing.

Derek's dragged himself to the maid's quarters, he thought to himself, he could do this. How hard could it be to drag one maid down to the king's chambers? He was the chief warrior of the BlueMoon pack.

He sent the head maid, Lana to gather everyone for an important announcement as soon as he arrived. The maids who had never been summoned so urgently before began to question their job. Most of them thought they would be kicked out of the palace, at worst, the pack. Derek looked at all of them with guilt but he had a job to execute.

"You" he scanned the area gravely " and you over there" The maids he called looked at him in surprise, they were tensed already, and now they were being pointed at, what more could Lucifer want from them again?

"Yes, Sir Derek" these were the only words the maids could mumble. Derek looked at them again gravely before he turned around "Follow me"

As soon as Derek and the two maids left, the maids left behind started whispering among themselves. They had never been in any tense situation like this before. All they did was serve the king food and clean his chambers ONLY when he was not around. And above all, never to come to the Alpha's chambers when he was present, especially at night.

The last maid who had tried seducing the Alpha at night was burnt to death according to the announcement. But only Derek, Lana and Avarez knew what had happened in reality. "What do you think Sir Derek would do to them?" One of the maids asked

"Maybe exile them, but they have always been quiet among the group, even in the quarters, we barely know them" another answered while keeping a serious expression.

"Who knows, they tried seducing the king like Sophia did but the king did not succumb to any of their tricks" the young maid answered and everyone became quiet "I hope they get killed by whatever is coming for them"

The maids became quiet, it was River talking, nobody dared to make a sound. Rumours had it that River has been the longest-serving maid of the Alpha of the BlueMoon pack and is the prettiest among the maids. She had an aura of dominance wherever she found herself. Only Lana could contend with her confidence. She was the only one granted access by the king to be fed, as such, the maids thought she was the closest to the king.

But even with that, the king never made advancement towards her, but the maids were only newbies. Who could dare contend with River? It was impossible. They had churned down whatever insult that was thrown at them by River.

"Yes....I agree with River on this one, maybe they tried to seduce the Alpha and it backfired on them" one of the maids said and when they noticed that River smiled, they all agreed with the maid to get on River's good books.

Lana looked at the maids sucking up to River and let out a sigh. She thought back to get conversation with Derek when he had approached her. He had told her about the king needing them for something urgent.

" I will be taking two of your maids, The Alpha needs something from them," Derek told Lana trying to put up and hard face but Lana wasn't buying any of it.

"And I am supposed to believe that Sir Derek?"

Derek looked at her briefly but those eyes looked like they could bore a hole into anybody's soul "What more should I say, everything I've told you so far has never been believed by you"

Lana stood a step back after Derek approached her "Stop shifting the conversation Sir Derek, I have believed everything you said up until now"

Derek went close to her again, this time he looked angry and frustrated "If I do this, will you believe me?"

"What......." Before Lana could register anything in her head, Derek had pulled her into a deep kiss.

Lana tried to break free from the kiss but Derek kept her in place "What are you doing " Lana asked after she recovered

Derek grabbed her shoulders in frustration "Shut the fuck up and kiss me back, Lana"
