Raymond had just said something to irk their parents and now, his parents were all staring at him waiting for an explanation. Rafe had to come up with something. Something tangible and FAST!

He scratched his head. "Mother, father.. I can explain" he stepped forward, hoping his boldness would deter what they had in mind. "I did not have sex with the girl, Ivy. I just went to make sure she was safe. She is my friend. I wouldn't want them to hurt her" Rafe said as he relaxed his hands and placed them in his pocket.

Their father turned to Raymond, "How did you know he was having sexual intercourse with that girl… .what's her name again?... Ivy!". He folded his arms.

"I sensed her perfume on his shirt. I've been around her before so I could tell what she smells like and he must have been around her or… in her, for him to smell like her for this long" Raymond shrugged.

Their mom advanced towards Rafe, rubbing invisible dirt off his shoulders, brushing his hair backwards and playing with his
