Rafe had picked up a coat and that of Ivy and told her they would go for a walk. The house was too tight a space for him to have shared his father's past with her.

As they got there, he sat down to process some information and then turned to tell her.

Rafe slowly looked up at Ivy, his face illuminated by the faint light of the street lamp outside. He could feel the weight of the story he was about to tell her and he hesitated for a moment. He had never told his father's story to anyone before, and he wasn't sure how she would react.

He had to tell her. He had to tell her the truth about his father and why they had to flee their former home, hunted by werewolf hunters. He had to tell her the truth about Mr. Cayton and the price his father had paid for their safety.

Ivy's expression remained neutral as she waited for him to continue. Rafe cleared his throat and began, his voice low and measured.
