Chapter 156: Surrender

Freda's POV

It was clear that he could see through me. My pain was not something I could hide no matter how much I tried.

"If you want to lie to me, look me in the eye and do it with courage." I tried but I couldn't. I sighed. I think I was doing that too often because sometimes my emotions were more than words and I just couldn't express it at times.

"You haven't been forthcoming with your emotions since the last time we argued. What is jerking you up at night? I don't recall knowing I feel something is going on and you don't want to bother me or something. I love you, Alfred but I do not want you to suffer alone."

I asked him. If he was hopefully going to let me in on what was happening, maybe I would be able to find the words as to why I was feeling that way. There was no word yet that would simplify all of what I was seeking at that point.
