Teddy was a very small man. He was the smallest man who ever became a Hunter and a Brother. Because of his small height, he had not been fully made an assassin, instead, he was a helper and helpers went on missions with Brothers. He may not be as athletic as Theodore or as burly as Max but he was faster on his feet than anyone else which was why he was able to quickly block the door when the remaining two Dark Storm triplets came rushing into Ted's apartment threatening to raise hell. Chase who was in front raised a hand as if to hit Teddy but he controlled himself. Teddy wasn't the man he wanted to beat to a pulp so he forced deep breaths in through his nostrils into his lungs. "My sister is missing...""How do you know that?" Teddy asked. He was scared of Chase and Carl. They both were twice his size and in a battle of fists he knew he was no match for them but he had a duty to perform - protect Theodore. Well, protect Theodore and keep the monster away. From behind Chase Carl g
Chase was the first to react. If he hadn't dropped the flashlight and raised his hands to shield his face Ted would have shredded his flesh when he leapt off the bed to attack him. The deepest, animal growls came from his throat as he attacked Chase. As a man, Ted was stronger than most but as a - whatever he currently was, he was even stronger than a strong wolf like Chase. So the other man was unable to defend himself as Ted's clawed fingers dug into the flesh of his arms to pry them loose from his face. Teddy, small as he was but still very much stronger and faster than the average omega wolf tried to pull Ted free away from Chase. Carl who had quickly darted aside when Ted leapt from the bed immediately transformed into his wolf, shredding his clothes without a care in the world as hot air accompanied his transformation. But the weight and size of his wolf was more than the attic could handle and so a few seconds later the floor bucked under them and broke, sending all three men
Edward stared at her in disgust. At that moment she was the most repulsive thing he had ever seen and it wasn't because of her body or the vomit in front of her, it was the monstrosity the woman with the deep scar had removed from her body. Cathy was sprawled on the floor, brown eyes drained of life as she stared at the child. It was not like any child she had ever seen before. It didn't matter to her that the woman with the scar had just torn into her belly with a dagger to viciously yank the child from out of her womb. It didn't matter that she had bled for several hours before Edward injected her with the purple-colored liquid that was supposed to make her heal. She could only stare in amazement but with dead eyes at the child in front of her. This child was the reason she had been strangely sick, the reason why she couldn't eat basic human food without retching the contents of her belly, the reason she was losing so much blood until she had to switch to a diet of only blood and
Asher looked down at the limp figure on the bed. He was one of the five occupants in the room the rest were Anthony, Chase and Teddy. The last person was Ted and he was the limp figure on the bed. His eyes were closed while the other men stared at him as if trying to diagnose his illness.Eventually, Asher turned to Anthony. “Do you even know what is wrong with him?” he asked.Anthony shook his head. “I don’t even know what he is.”“And the only thing I know about him is that he is the hunter that my stupid sister decided to fall in love with and only a few hours ago would have decapitated my hand if I didn’t share the same blood as said sister.”Asher gave Chase a warning look which the man ignored. Asher shook his head. He knew Chase was mad. He was too. He wanted answers. He wanted to know what the heck happened to his pack member. Cathy was as much his responsibility as she was her brothers' and more than once, right under his nose, she had been abducted and tortured. Asher was be
Anthony waited until he was sure that no one could hear their conversation before taking off the surgical gloves he had put on for effect. He walked slowly to his suitcase where he disposed of the gloves and fished out a scapular which he slipped into the pocket of his white coat then took a thin, clear, and flexible pipe. Teddy watched the man suddenly skeptical about being left alone with him. He didn’t know much about shapeshifters but he knew to stay the hell away from them. They were cunny and worst predators than their vampires. Because there was a bit of almost everything supernatural in them there was no telling the kind of dormant character one shapeshifter possessed. Even brothers of the same shape-shifting parents had different characters and weaknesses. Some shapeshifters were docile while others were the wildest things you ever saw but there was no way of telling which from which without getting close enough to get hurt. This was why every supernatural hunter stayed the h
The scarred woman stood behind Cathy watching as water poured down the shower on her body. Cathy’s body was pale, thin, and slippery with blood, sweat, and water. She was so weak she had to lean against the bathroom wall for support. The scarred woman did not offer a hand even though she frowned at Cathy's pathetic predicament. It was none of her business, that was what she told herself over and over as she applied more soap to Cathy's back and passed her the sponge so that she could scrub herself. Even though Cathy looked like something the cat dragged in from a very dirty tunnel, the scarred woman could see from the cords in her arms that on her good days, she was a very strong woman. Unbidden a smile curved her lips. Theodore always went for the stronger women. And Cathy was not just strong, she was beautiful too even under those layers of dirt and thin flesh so it wasn’t too far-fetched that he would go for a woman like her.But that smile soon disappeared as quickly as it came be
Teddy watched the doctor skeptically. It seemed to him that the doctor was muttering something under his breath as he walked the length and breadth of the room twice before stopping at the foot of the bed. Teddy narrowed his eyes. He was curious to see what Anthony was doing.Anthony raised his dark eyes to Teddy’s face and in that moment the other man felt a chill go down his spine. There was something different about Anthony. Something terrifying, something insane and mysterious. Perhaps it was the look in his eyes, the tiny pinprick pupils, or the fact that his skin was paler than normal. Whatever it was, it terrified Teddy greatly.“Have you ever tried taming the beast?” Anthony asked. Even his voice was different now. It was deeper and as cold as death.Teddy resisted the urge to shiver as he gathered his thoughts to answer him. “W-we usually just let it have its fill of blood. Sometimes Theodore brings it under control and other times…” he shrugged helplessly. “We’ve never tried
Anthony remained where he stood for a moment. Now he had the man, he just had to convince him to come back to life. It would not be an easy task and now Anthony was beginning to wonder if he had made a mistake. He had been lucky enough that those drops of water, like bread crumbs, had led him to Theodore. Ted himself were those water drops. He had wanted Anthony to find him that much was obvious but did he want to be brought back to life?Anthony didn’t care whether or not Ted wanted to come back to life. He infiltrated his mind for the sole purpose of bringing him back to life. Finding Cathy was paramount in Anthony’s mind. He had seen how distraught Asher was, he didn’t even want to imagine how Maggie would be. Anthony’s greatest fear as he prepared to do what he had to was that he would break Maggie’s trust and thereby betray the trust her father had in him when he took the chance to make him the pack doctor even though there were wolves in the pack more medically gifted than him.
