Reality check

Greeting Mahala in our home felt awkward, but I decided to trust Grandma that her help was crucial for my training. We sat together at the kitchen table, staring at each other. “Amara told me that you chose to release your magic on your birthday. It's a wise decision,” Mahala applauded my decision showing her courteous smile.

“I'm truly grateful that you agreed to help me,” I bowed my head, doing my best to act polite.

“Why wouldn't I? The eldest exist to help in such cases,” she softly chuckled.
