Chapter 34

Samantha

I felt like living in a scripted manner. I felt like a robot. I am living with the pain, and it's killing me every single day. It has only been two weeks. A week ago, Dylan was proven guilty of frustrated murder, illegal detention and many more that I couldn't even remember. He was sentenced to be in prison until his death. I should be happy now that I'm free, but I couldn't even grasp the freedom I've been dreaming of.

It was a starry night, and I've been having a hard time sleeping. I went to the kitchen without opening the lights. I quickly drink water.

I was ready to go back to the guest room where I'm staying when I heard noises from outside the house. Curious, I peek on the window behind the curtain. In front of the house, I found two people.

I saw Rachel frustratedly messing her hair. In front of her was Rom, her long-time boyfriend. From what I'm seeing, he's drunk.

“You tell me, Rachel. Why are you doing this to me?” Rom was almost pleading.
