Abicus
" Well, I'm sure Lucas will stand by you Valkia which should be enough to quiet them down right?"
Her face spoke volumes as she took on a more sorrowful look which worried me. Something she hasn't said yet must be what I am not seeing.
" If my father retires I believe that's when everything will fall apart here... Garson has a strange power helping his pack but hasn't actually used force yet. Mostly skirmishes on our borders. But what if he's waiting for the ranks to break from the inside."
That made sense I didn't know Garson as an alpha but I know the territory he rules over belonged to Maxine Taggerdy. But reports say she vanished around the time I sealed away my power. Maxine was a powerhouse at one point and it seems this Garson took over but I don't know all the pieces.
" How do you plan to handle this... A fight on two fronts will wipe you out. Not even my gift can help you survive that alone."
" I had a selfish idea abou
Macy/ It wasn't easy to speak up feeling so out of place but I could feel a strong connection between them. Everyone apart of Nathan's life has a connection but the moment I saw her I felt something deeper between them. It was how the eyes met or the body shifted slightly in response to the other. She was a mountain I couldn't try scaling which was a crushing defeat to accept. But since I don't even know what I want from him how could I hope to compete. When those two headed into a private room to talk I was guided around the den. Her name was Candice such a cheerful kid but I didn't mind exploring. When I got to the kitchen area I was amazed at how handcrafted everything was. They avoided most electricity we humans worship for sure but this is much nicer. When they finished talking I landed the job of preparing dinner and they were gonna hunt for meat. The familiar stirring inside of me was actively announcing its jealousy which I understood well. With Candi
Abicus/ She ended up masking the scent of me that covered her by letting the blood flow. It was silly of her but it made sense as well to avoid the questions that could arise. When we arrived Macy had just finished prepping the food which means we made it back just in time for the stags to be carved. It wouldn't take much time to prepare the meat from these animals so we left it to Macy and the others. While dinner was getting ready we decided to clean up before we sat down to eat. Valkia did enjoy the showers created by the bipeds but a natural spring to bathe in was more ideal. She managed to have her own personal bath built where she could easily control it and clean it. It was far more convenient this way and she could still enjoy natures view as well. This time when she and I had stripped we contained ourselves well enough for the moment at least. She seemed more interested in talking about my plans going forward which wasn't figured out yet. But then sh
Abicus/ When morning came most had still been asleep but that wouldn't last long for anyone. The sound of running feet could be heard and the strong scent of blood was In the air. I could hear raised voices from the main room which meant this was a dire situation. The moment I entered I could see the grim look on Valkias face, I guess they made a move. " What has happened?" " We just lost the central blockade... He made his move and somehow overpowered my people." Her anger never existed till those she cared for became endangered or worse. She was going to do something reckless I could see it so clearly. " Macy, do not leave her side I will return shortly." " Abicus, this is my problem, not yours..." " I will return with a victory and answers." Not wanting to waste any more time I rushed off with six hunters following behind. It doesn't make sense for them to attack during the rising of the sun when they don't have her
Macy/ The morning was crazy with news of an attack on the central border which Valkia wanted to retake. But Nathan had to step in even though she was adamant at first but she gave in and let him have his way. With hunters following they rushed for a battlefield I will never know, and a place not for me. So I decided to return to the library to pick up where I left off hoping to learn more. However, the stirring inside of me became wild and difficult making it hard to focus on the book. I still don't know what this is exactly or what it even wants but I wish I could understand it. After a little time, I managed to regain my focus reading the words on the pages once more. Would this answer all my questions or just add more to the list. " Abicus once told me the difference between what he became and what he was. Power aside he found a deeper secret that we have no records of happening before. When he marked me that night I felt a deeper connection to the moon's
Abicus/ Valkia sent word to her father about the events that transpired and I also sent a messenger to Denver. However, the stares have been heavy which is understandable since no one knows what happened to them. It seems an explanation would be necessary but only after her father arrived. Macy was able to settle down after learning how to accept what she was fully, with this awakening she will be invaluable. When Lucas arrived he was accompanied by his most trusted pack mates. Valkia's mate was at his side which explains where he has been in the recent days of my visit. With everyone here, we moved the most trusted to the back meeting room to speak in private. Her father looks the same as always which is a good sign. " Let's begin quickly so our people can be moved to deal with this threat at our border." " Before that dearest daughter, let's address the rumors we had heard. They are worrying." Eyes once more fell on me expecting our greatest
Macy/ Abicus wanted to head home but decided to postpone it a little longer. So we stayed with Valkia while he trained her further in tapping into his gift. Within a full day, he had trained Valkia enough to tap into his gift which soon lead to me. He admitted knowing nothing about my spirit but he genuinely wanted to help me learn. The first things he taught me were how I changed and how far I could tap into it without losing control. At first, I couldn't do it but his encouragement was driving me to know the how. I could freely shift without any pain or discomfort but I couldn't go further into my shift. Nathan believed this was the extent currently of what I could accomplish. He then taught me how to fight while in his human form, it was extremely difficult. However much like Valkia was able to make progress he was satisfied with I had accomplished the same. Since Nathan had difficulties shifting outside of the night time I felt like I was valuable to him truly. L
Abicus/ After getting dressed to head downstairs I was met by South but Deacon was already gone. Another file was on the table detailing the disorganization of the east, which means Mastif was here also. South hasn't changed much still looking rough and violent with how she presents herself. " How have you been?" "Working mostly, you know normal life things. Cut to the chase what did you need?" "I settled things in the west mostly but the east is proving to be more problematic. I need to know the southern chapter's position in this entire thing." "I would go to hell and back for you, Abicus. But you are sending me to a place far worse, but I guess it doesn't matter. I don't have much time left either way right?" South was born weak and because of that suffered many hardships. Even worse she's become a ticking clock of life which we still haven't figured out a when. She became rogue the moment she was born weak because weakness wasn't a
Abicus; Chapter ElevenMacy/With South as my traveling companion, I found myself in a new kind of freedom. I was never allowed to do things like this but for him, it seems worth it. And yet I feel the absence of his presence which was a constant reminder of feeling protected. Since we had a long journey ahead of us I ended up prying into South's past and relationship with Nathan. Apparently south wasn't her name just a nickname like everyone else had, a way for him to remember where they are from. Surprisingly she told me her name and the story of her struggle to survive.Learning more about Rachel was heartbreaking but gave me a sense of connection to her. So I told her about my own story that lead me here. She was surprised to hear what happened even more so that I survived the tragedy. Rachel couldn't help but call us a pair of tragedy survivors not blessed by anyone or anything. That felt like a direct shot at the moon who was said to guide and protect them
