I really wanted them to leave right now, but I couldn't bring myself to say it out loud. What were they thinking at the time? I really wanted to throw them away.

The ladies flitted around, attempting to make me feel comfortable and ready for the day. I was unable to find even a single moment of tranquility, however. After passing through the trees, the full moon was visible high in the sky above us. It served as a timely reminder that the clock was ticking. The next full moon would be in a month's time. This was becoming increasingly unfair.

What a waste of time. This was not going to be a particularly memorable night, I reasoned.

"Queen Nia, I hope you have a pleasant and restful night," Lady Alana said, a wink in her eye.

"Yes, sweet dreams, my fair queen," Lady Josephine agreed, her voice echoing the others. When they were together, they could be a sadistic pair.
