Sneaking out

“Who’s there?” The night guard asked in a stern voice as he walked towards the direction of the sound. It had been a long time since someone ever tried breaking into the mansion; especially with the strict protection there.

“Any problem?” A female voice spoke just above him. Raising his head, he came face-to-face with his boss’s daughter.

“I am sorry, ma’am. I thought I heard some noises.”

She brandished her phone. “I was making a call. Was I too loud?”

“Not at all, ma’am. Carry on, please” He quickly scurried away, disappearing into the dark night.

Lisa stood by her window, wearing a smug smile. For the first time, she felt being in charge wasn’t particularly a bad thing. “Are you still there?”

From the patch of darkness by the wall, reappeared Will, grinning. “I didn’t know you had this side of you.”

A tinge of red crawled up Lisa’s face. “What side are we talking about here.”

He shook his head. “Never mind. I have to go now before another guard appears. See you tomorrow?”
