Chapter 99 ~ Dante's POV

I was able to get through to my parents over the phone and honestly, their happiness was beyond compare.

I haven't seen them this joyous since the accident with Valerie.

But I am glad that's over now, after speaking with them, I returned my phone to my pocket and waited outside the ward, because I knew seeing me would only make Valerie get infuriated with anger.

Still, I was glad she was over the dying phase.

At exactly thirty minutes, I saw my mom and dad with Valerie's mother walking at full speed as they approached where I was seated.

"Where is she?" Valerie's mother asked, as her voice echoed how much she couldn't wait to see her daughter.

"She is inside the ward," I responded, pointing my fingers in the direction of the ward.

"Okay, let's go inside," my mother instructed.

But I couldn't because I was certain I was going ruin their moments together.

"Valerie doesn't want to see the sight of me, not even on her sick bed," I explained to them.
