"Hello," Sarah said to Frank as she took a seat, stretching her legs under the wooden table. Frank seemed to have waited for too long in the small coffee shop. His coffee was almost cold.
"Did you sleep at all last night? You look like someone that hasn't slept for a decade, Sarah" Frank observed as he stared at Sarah's face for a while.
"You're right, Frank. Can I get a cup of coffee and cake please?" Sarah requested as she rubbed her hands together to stay warm. The whether was a bit too cold this morning. She was wearing a blue jean trousers and a lemon yellow furry overcoat with a blue wool knit cap that went together with the blue muffler around her neck.
Frank placed an order for
"Well, I'll not ask you about where you slept last night since I saw you sleeping in the reception room but I don't think such action will be repeated if you still want to see the four corners of this room again," he uttered nonchalantly as he dropped his gold bangle on a table by the corner of the room."And I'll not ask you for my freedom either since I believe you know my boundaries already," Sarah said angrily."Yes, I know your boundaries and that's what I'm trying to keep. I'll be stupid not to know that," Richard said calmly."Then you should know that my whereabout
The restaurant in Bridget's guest house was filled with people. Men and women chattered away their sorrows and losses over some bottles of drinks."It seems like the country is taking a strategic move that will bring the war to an end. Reinforcement has been made and the army reserve will be joining the troops immediately," a husky voice that belonged to a man in a blue oversized t-shirt that couldn't hide his potbelly, was heard as he said to a man beside him who seemed to be in his early sixties. The people around his table began to discuss the war and its effects. Not long after, everyone in the restaurant began to talk about the war as they were all keen to know its details.Richard sat quietly over a cup of beer which he hardly sipped. He was idly
Sarah was roughly folding a pair of blue shorts into a pink duffle bag."You can tell me how much you hate me now, Sarah," Richard said as he calmly walked towards her. "How do I say that I'm such a scumbag for hurting you and giving you a reason to want separation?" He added as he rested his hands on her shoulders but Sarah shoved them away furiously."How do I let you know how deeply sorry I'm for acting unreasonably, Sarah? I can apologize to your friend, Frank if you want me to, if that's the only way of proving to you how sorry I'm, Sarah," Sarah brushed past him and she walked to the window side. Her back was turned on him now.She needed time to digest all
The atmosphere was covered in thick smoke. So many men lay about, dead. Some were burnt beyond recognition by the atomic bomb the terrorists had detonated. While Richard was fighting with Barukas, a serious war was going on, on the outside. An explosion had occurred a few miles away from them. One of Barukas' Men, cobra, as he was called, had used this opportunity to sneak into the room where the weapons were kept and caused a massive destruction. There were so many casualties. The situation outside was so ugly. Richard had never imagined that it would be this bad. There was no trace of Sarah. He wandered dejectedly through the thick smoke but found nothing. His breath became lower with every passi
It was still 4pm so the celebration was still on. There was so much to eat and drink so everyone was happy. Richard led Sarah through the crowd. Sarah was weak and looked pale.Sarah had been introduced to countless numbers of people, most of whom she wouldn't even remember, by the governor who happened to be the youngest brother to the DPO. Sarah had met him a couple of times through the DPO and had a good understanding of the young man. He was a free spirit and light-hearted.Presidents from different countries were all present today. The new president was a business tycoon earlier and was known across the globe. So, many wealthy men honored his invitation despite the fact that he had only assumed the office of the president a few months ago.
The suite was spacious and much more comfortable than the other hotel they had lodged in. It had a set of rooms with matching furniture and color, a very large living room and a big bathroom. The former hotel they stayed in was nothing compared to this. Richard had instructed someone to move their things over so everything was neatly arranged.Sarah noticed that she didn't have much to do since their luggage was neatly packed in the big brown closet, and their clothes meticulously hung. She wondered if the workers here always did such extra services for their customers or paid special attention to them.If not, who else could have done it since she was with Richard during the whole time.Richard was standing by the window and was on call with someone so Sarah inspected the room. She walked around the
"Can I borrow your phone?" Sarah asked the middle aged woman when she entered the room. The woman didn't refuse. She dipped her hand into her pocket and brought out a small phone then handed it to Sarah respectfully.Sarah dialed a number but it rang out."Pick the damn phone!" She cursed. She dialed it for the second time but it rang out. She angrily dialed it for the third time and it was finally picked. Frank sounded busy over the phone."Hello," he said. Sarah breathed hard to regain her composure then she said,
At the clothes store, Sarah tried so many dresses and they all looked good on her. The sales attendants were all in awe of her body shape. She had such an attractive features. They naturally liked customers with a catch-all body shape that wouldn't stress them so they attended to Sarah very well. Some customers would look so repulsive no matter what they wore. Sarah walked out of the changing room in a scarlet red sleeveless short gown. It fitted her skin perfectly."You look very beautiful in this ma'am," a sales attendant said, smiling. She quickly brought out a lemon green handbag with kitten heels of the same color and showed them to Sarah."It'll definitely go well with these," she said.
