"Your father asked about you.”

That wasn't the phrase I wanted to hear. Not after living in the anxiety of whether I had seen the video or not. My grandfather had taken it upon himself to update my mother on what had happened, the tests I was sent to take, and my uncle's reaction. Her face of disappointment was frightening, it was as if she had taken his side at once, which was far more painful than I anticipated. It wasn't a good thing at all. I remember what he said to my grandfather was:

"We must prevent Abel from finding out about this, I'll try to convince him that it's better for everyone for Emma to sleep at your house since she's going to work with you," he explained out of nowhere, "though I doubt he'll accept so easily because it's you. Also sending it to my sister's house may work, but it would be very cumbersome...”
