I was tired of fighting.

I had to do it for the child I was carrying in my womb because otherwise, I had no reason to continue. I was weak, discarded, and with my soul in pieces, without the consolation of saying that no one had told me. My whole family was at pains to remind me how foolish I would be if I let myself be carried away by the love of a man who wasn't worth it.

They were right.

The result was to run away with him, leave my house like a thief, and travel with the thought that my love story would have a happy ending. It didn't—quite the opposite.
