Cedrick pulled up in front of the library, As I climbed into the car, I noticed a figure in the front seat- it was William's dad, How was he already here, I thought I was supposed to pick him up from the airport, a thousand thought clouded my head as I sat down. “Hello Bailey dear, how have you been and where William?” William’s dad asks me as Cedrick drives.“I have been good sir and Williams is at the office How are you here already? I was supposed to come pick you up.”“Ohh dear.” he chuckled “I thought you and William would come to pick me up at the airport so I figured I would surprise the both of you. But that lad never fails to surprise me.”“I was surprised sir, so how is everything at home, how are you, how is Aunt Celia?”“I’m fine and she’s fine too, she sends her greetings. And I have told you to call me Mathew, We are family now, and hearing you call me sir makes me feel like an oldie.” He says and I laugh while nodding yes.“And why didn’t that son of mine come with you?
The sun shone on my face, stirring me from my sleep. I glanced around the room as I struggled to unwrap myself from my duvet. I must have entangled myself in my sleep. I finally freed myself as I raised my head to take a peek around the room and William was nowhere to be found, he must have gone early to work as usual. I got up from the floor that I slept on last night. I felt the coldness of the tiles through the duvet. This made me remember the last time I slept on the floor in his dad's house. At least that time, there was a comfy rug, it provided a bit of comfort.I stretched out my sore limbs, sleeping on the floor would do that to you, it was so uncomfortable and this was how I was going to spend the next heaven knows how many nights. I folded up my duvet and placed it in the corner with my pillow.I poked my head out of the room to ensure Mathew wasn’t around before I silently made my way out of William’s room and walked to mine. I glanced at the bed and was tempted to crawl in
From my spot on the ground, I watched Williams' motions. He exited the room after he finished dressing up for work. It’s been three days now since William’s father, Mathew, had come to stay with us. The reason he was staying with us, which I later found out from Matthew himself, was due to an upcoming board of directors meeting that he was obligated to attend every year. He said William didn’t want him staying at a hotel alone so he invited him here instead and today, both William and his dad were going to the office together for the meeting, I think they have an important event or launch coming up soon because William has been working twice as more than he usually does he was already a workaholic before this so now, it’s worse.Once William closed the door behind him, I sighed, getting up from my spot on the floor and resting my head on the bed letting out a sneeze which I’ve been doing a lot lately and I blame it on the fact that I have been sleeping on this cold hard floor.I walke
It has been a week since I went out with the girls for a pampering session. Today, I was accompanying William’s dad, Mathew, to go golfing at a prestigious golf club that he was a member of. I’ve never golfed before or even ever considered doing it because it sounded boring and it was always classified as a rich people sport but there is surely a first time for everything, right?Mathew was taking me to his private golf club so I had to dress appropriately since it was obvious that we were likely to not be alone. I texted Hazel letting her know about what I would be doing today and also to ask for her help in getting ready since I had no idea about what people wear to a golf club. William as usual wasn’t home at the time. If I was not staying in this house, I would think he had a room where he sleeps every day in his office. I dried my body with my towel before walking out of the bathroom and I met Hazel seated on my bed with my outfit for the day laid beside her waiting for me“Hi
As we took our seats, a waiter came over to our table almost immediately.“What drinks can I get you both?” he said and Mathew glances at me first before back turning to the waiter.“I’ll have a martini on the rocks. What about you Bailey, what you have?” He asks me.“A Sex on the beach,” I say and the waiter nods leaving us, he returns after a short while with our drinks. I took a sip from it almost instantly to let my tongue enjoy the flavors after all there’s nothing to keep me going than a little liquid confidence, especially when I’m very nervous about the sport.“When did you start playing this sport?” I ask throwing the cherry from my drink into my mouth. He rubs his chin for a moment. “It’s been a minute since I have played but I think I have been golfing for more than fifteen years now, It is a great sport.”“Wow, that’s a very long time so that means you are like a pro at this.”“I would like to think I am.” He chuckles. “So what about you dear, can you play?” He asked me.“
William’s P.O.V.I gently adjusted my posture as I moved my head from left to right, This was an attempt to get the relentless ache out of my neck. I sunk further into my chair closing my eyes. Here's to ending yet another stressful day at the office, I knew I was a workaholic, it was a badge I wore with pride and latitude. I usually never come into the office during the weekends but today was an exception as an urgent matter needed my attention here and I guess it pulled me back to the office today. The next coming days are very crucial. My company is launching a new product soon and I have to do everything in my power to make it a successful launch and nothing less.I opened my eyes after a few minutes and picked up my slick iPhone to glance at the time that read that it was past noon before placing the phone back face down on the table. I shut down my laptop, and closed the files on my table before getting up, picking up my keys and phone, making my way to Luke's office down below.
William’s P.O.VI picked up her small frame and placed her on one side of the bed before using the duvet to cover her back up. She stirred a bit up but didn't wake up as she mumbled some incoherent things in her sleep. I brought out my phone from my pocket, tapping aggressively on the screen to phone my family doctor.I felt guilty and responsible for what she was going through right now. After all, I was the one who instructed her to sleep on the floor when the bed was big enough for more than two people to share. I’ve never felt remorseful for anything before but this feeling seemed very similar to guilt.I place the phone on my ear still watching the sleeping figure of Bailey as I listened to the phone ring. The doctor picked up after the fourth ring.“Hello Mr. Armani. Good afternoon, how can I help you today?”“How soon can you be at my place?” I inquired not taking my gaze away from Bailey’s form.“I-I’m quite busy right now Mr. Armani and it would take me thirty minutes to an h
The past two days have been very weird.Let me start from the beginning.I woke up the next day to find myself sleeping on a comfy bed instead of the cold hard floor I had initially slept on. I was wrapped with my duvet on my body like a burrito, with a damp towel on my forehead. As I rose from the bed, I was struck immediately by the throbbing discomfort of a headache, which made me lie back down on the bed. After a few minutes, I slowly sat back up to notice a bottle of water and an Advil on the bedside table. I reached for the bottle and I took a few sips before plunging the Advil down my throat. I took a look around the room to realize I was indeed still in Williams's bedroom.“I am definitely dreaming.” I mumbled to myself because I remember sleeping on the floor yesterday and I knew better than to go near William’s bed, so how did I get here?I turned to the other side of the bed to see a sleeping Williams lying there. I covered my mouth in shock to avoid making any sound in or
