It was dinner time at the packhouse dining hall; Dawn sat there at the table with her mom, dad, Beta Richard, and his family as people were eating and diving into their conversations. Dawn was in her thoughts thinking about Logan, wondering what he was doing right now? It's been a couple of days since she last saw him; she decided to give him some time to cope with his newfound life of being free from all the pain he had endured from his past. The next day Dawn was sitting on the porch wrapping her head around everything that had happened last night. Malachi confessed his love to her; she did not see that coming but did not know how to feel about it. It was too much to take in at a short time. Dawn is still angry at her father, that she felt so betrayed by the whole setup, that not once her father ever thinks to ask how she felt, but most of all consider her feeling. The next day Dawn woke up from the sun coming into her room; she sat up, stretching her arms out, and got out of bed; when she looked over to her nightstand and saw the bottle. She started to remember, so she got up quickly to get dressed and placed the bottle in the back of her blue jean pocket. She put on a red t-shirt with her black hoodie and black shoes and left the room, heading on down the stairs. Once downstairs, she walked towards the front, and there was where she saw her mother in the living room reading a book. “Hey mom, is dad around?” Dawn asked. She looks up from her book and lays her eyes on Dawn, and responds, “No Honey, him and Beta Mitchell gone out to take care of some pack business, is there some wrong?” “No, it’s nothing. Logan pulls out some ground beef, onions, and green peppers from the refrigerator in the kitchen. And on the counter, there was a brown bag that contained potatoes; before he could put them out, Dawn grabs his hand. “I want to help, let me pill them” Dawn stated, holding the bag. Logan nodded and went to the kitchen drawer and grab the potato pillar and the knife; he handed the potato pillar to Dawn, which Dawn grabbed and went over to the table with a bag and the potatoes and started pilling the skin off. Logan cut up the onions, and bell peppers and mix them up with the ground beef. Finally, the food that they made was meatloaf and mashed potatoes with green beans. The smell of the aroma had gotten Dawn mouthwatering, that she could not wait to dig in; when the plates were on the table, they both dug in. there was silence. Dawn was pacing back and forth in her living room, thinking about everything she had to discover. All the lies, and secrets that were pondering in her head, with thoughts. The worst part of it all is that she must deal with her father's betrayal, how he became the mastermind by putting all this together with no shame. But honestly, what he did in the dark finally came to light now, Dawn feels trap in another world. The next part is how to fix things that had invaded her life? She now turns between two people, her friend Malachi, and now her mate Logan. What a mess; she must figure out what to do; she now knows that someone will get hurt in the long run whatever decision she made. Dawn curses her father for all of this because he put her in one of the most challenging situations she must face; rather, she is ready for it not. At the river, Dawn sat trying to clear her mind from the confrontation that she and her father had. The next day Dawn woke up from her sleep; she turned over to see that Logan was not there, she looked around everywhere, still no sight of him. Dawn pulled back the covers and got out of the bed she placed her clothes and shoes back on and left out of the room headed downstairs. Once she landed on the first floor, she caught the smell of bacon coming from the kitchen, Dawn went to go follow it, and when she went into the kitchen, there she saw Logan at the stove cooking he turned to see that Dawn was standing there “Good morning sleepyhead, how are you feeling?” Logan asked.
