Aliyah

I returned to the house, still wondering about what had happened when I touched Ashton. Those photographs felt so real, as if I were there in the moment. There was fire, men fighting, a woman screaming with a baby in her arms, and a young boy crying for them to stop. Why had I seen those scenes as I touched Ashton? I couldn’t understand why these visions seemed to be tied to him.

A delicious scent hit my nose when I reached the door. No, it wasn’t the scent that werewolves smelled when they detected their bonds. It was the smell of literal food wafting through the air. Cheese, meat, and spices were in the room, making my mouth water. It had a familiar aroma, reminding me of my grandmother’s cooking. As I followed the scent, I found Brayden in the kitchen, wearing an apron, and closing the oven door.

“Why are you cooking, Brayden?” I asked, suddenly getting panicked. “You’re a visitor, you shouldn’t have to do any work.”
