“Marry me.” Callum felt as if his heart stopped as he told her those words. What the heck? Did he come off too strong? How could he ask her to marry him if they were not even lovers in the first place? What was wrong with him and the order that which he did things?

He was nervous because Bea on the other line had been silent for a while. Was she shocked? Was she disgusted? She already told him that she had no plans of getting married to him, right?

“Bea, I know this is surprising but please know that I’m just doing this for Caleb.” He sighed. “I’m not trying to take advantage of your kindness towards me and my son so feel free to reject me if you don’t want to.”

What was he saying? Of course, he would get rejected! Who in their right mind would marry a single father that she met almost a month ago?
