Max's proposal really took me by surprise.
He was always so sweet and caring to me, but I thought it was just his nature.
I never expected him to ask me out.
Not only that, but he was going behind the alpha's back and risking getting into serious trouble by asking a mated wolf out on a date.
Of course, it would be fair to do so. After all, Aaron pretty much did the same thing to me when he went out with Tallulah. But that wouldn't make me better than him, would it? It wouldn't be fair to Aaron, much less to Max.
I'm going to tell Max that I don't think it's a good idea for us to go out, I told myself. After all, I didn't have any feelings for him other than friendship.
