Chapter 8: Space Gate.

Surrounding the vast castle of the Vampire King were walls of gray stone. There is no road to get there; the mountain area is just craggy cliffs.

But the cliff is only dangerous to humans, and with its strength, vampires can reach the castle quickly.

Inside the vast castle lit by torches embedded in the stone walls, the Vampire King sat on a throne, wielding a black sword, watching his subordinates stand below.

"Ten days after, Genesis will open the space portal for us to live in another land. What's your opinion?"

The vampires immediately started cursing humans and Genesis. They were so angry that everyone's eyes were as red as blood.

A man with silver hair raised his hand to signal the vampires to be quiet, then stepped forward to stand in front of the throne.

"My venerable king, the earth is ours; we should fight the Genesis for dominion."

"Against the Genesis?" A middle-aged man in a red robe stepped up from the crowd. "You should remember, Genesis created all things. To fight him, we need the help of another god."

"We should pray to the Dark God." The silver-haired man exclaimed. "The only one who always confronts the Creator is the Dark God. Those lowly humans can pray to the Creator, so why can't we pray to the Dark One?"

"Humans must trade many things to beg the Genesis. If we want to ask the Dark God for help, we have to make a trade-off." The Vampire King said, his eyes filled with hatred. "Cowardly humans, I will kill them all if given a chance."

"My noble king, what is the trade-off?" The man in the red robe looked up at the throne and waited for an answer.

"Those who ask for the help of the Dark God must pay with their souls. If we give our souls to the Dark God, we will no longer be free."

All vampires immediately fell silent. They all know that life will have no meaning if freedom is lost.

"My noble king, if I trade my freedom to retain my place on earth, I would rather go to a new land. We have the power; we can conquer and master that land just like our ancestors conquered the species on earth." The man in the red robe said.

The Vampire King, leaning the tip of his sword on the ground, asked.

"Anyone else has an idea?"

The man's words in red were what the vampires wanted to say. Vampires are naturally arrogant and belligerent, and none want to lose their powers. If they have to live weakly and become a species below humans, let humans control them, they would instead go elsewhere to be the hegemon.

When no one answered, the Vampire King straightened up and roared:

"We cannot fight Genesis, nor do we want to sell our souls to the Dark God. So the best way is that we follow the arrangement of Genesis. We have the power; we can go anywhere and control that place. Do you agree to leave the earth to keep your power?"

The vampires immediately shouted, "We agree!"

"If you have agreed, prepare what you want to bring. Ten days later, we will leave the earth."

...

The Vampire King stood in the middle of the square, waiting for the arrival of the Creator. Around him were a crowd of young and old vampires and carts laden with belongings. They not only stood on the square but also stood on the main streets of the ruined city, even jumping on the collapsed houses.

Vampires have a much longer lifespan than humans. In return, they breed very little, so the vampire population is not much. Even though they were all concentrated, the number was only half the population of a regular city.

When the sun rose high, in the clear blue sky without a single cloud, suddenly thunder sounded, and white lightning made everyone startle in terror. Next, a giant gate radiating aura appeared in the middle of the ruined plaza.

"The space gate only opens once. From now until the sun goes down, I will close it. Please enter this gate quickly; those who do not make it in time will accept to stay on earth with a body that has no strength." The voice of Genesis resounded across the sky.

The Vampire King angrily looked up at the sky, gritted his teeth, and shouted:

"Genesis, I hate you, I hate humans. I should have killed all those vile humans."

"If you don't take your time, there won't be a chance." A cold voice resounded in the air.

The aura from the gate diminished. When there was no more light, they saw beyond the gate a desolate wasteland of barren gravel, with occasional strange tree trunks sprouting from the crevices of the rocks.

The Vampire King roared indignantly again. "Creator, why did you bring us to such a wasteland? Did you cut off our way of life for the sake of vile humans?"

The voice of Genesis came down from the sky. "You should remember, you are taking my punishment. Do you want to stay on earth under human domination? Or do you want to own a new land?"

Although he wanted to kill the Creator if he could afford it, the Vampire King had no other choice now. He stood aside and ordered his clansman to pass through the portal.

Vampires carry carts loaded with belongings passed through the portal to a new land. When they had almost reached the other side of the gate, suddenly, a young vampire ran up to the Vampire King's side and said anxiously:

"My noble king, Prince Nolan, has not yet arrived."

"Why hasn't he come yet? Let's bring more staffing to find him before the gate closes." The Vampire King impatiently ordered.

The young vampire watched nervously as the sun set in the west. He and the other vampires hurriedly split up to find Prince Nolan.

The Vampire King patiently stood in front of the space portal, waiting for his son.

When the sun began to set behind the mountains, all the vampires and their wagons passed through the portal. Only the group of young vampires and Prince Nolan have yet to appear.

The setting sun made the Vampire King extremely impatient. He jumped onto the roof of the tallest building left in the city, waiting for his son.

Suddenly from afar, a giant black shadow rushed forward and flew into the space portal. The Vampire King happily ran after it, shouting:

"Unique. Did you bring Nolan?"

The great black shadow did not stop, it continued to fly in the new land, but the Vampire King saw no one on its back. When he turned around in panic, the space gate had closed and disappeared before his eyes.

"Genesis!" The Vampire King roared angrily. "My son hasn't come yet. Open the gate!"

The gate did not appear despite his screams, and the god of Creation did not answer him. In front of him was the barren land of stones and the vampire clans waiting for his direction.
