Chapter 15

I woke from my nightmare in a cold sweat, quickly searching for Terious, but he was nowhere to be found. I shook my head, my eyes unable to adjust to the florescent light, my heart pounding. I had lost where I was for a brief moment, the cell around me butter and cold as I pulled the blanket tighter around my shoulders; tears welling up in my eyes. I wanted to go home above all else, and yet it seemed like an impossibility, I would never see my family again. I almost couldn’t comprehend the thought, and the fear I felt at the knowledge that I was completely alone in a place I hated with all my heart and soul.

I jumped when the wall opened, bolting to an upright position on the rough bed, my heart thumping recklessly against my ribcage. A single stranger walked in, his brown eyes distant and uncaring.
