7. I'm already married to the woman I love

She turned and looked at her parents with pleading eyes, " please mum and dad, let me stay with brother Luke for a while."

" If you promise to be good, you can stay for a month with your brother." They loved her too much to deny her anything. She jumped and hugged him again then thanked her parents and hugged them.

"I'm really hungry, let's eat first then I can go and pack my stuff." She couldn't hide the excitement. They all settled down and soon dinner was served.

" Mum, there was someone you wanted me to meet, who was it?" Luke asked.

"She left in a hurry before you arrived. She said something urgent came up. Son, you will love her when you two meet. I have made a reservation at White Jade restaurant tomorrow evening for your first date."

"Mum, we talked about this already, I can't keep on going on dates with girls you like, I can only marry someone I love. Stop forcing me to do this to please you. Besides, I have a wife."

"You have what? How comes you have a wife and we don't know about it?" Dianna Maxwell was now loosing it. She had been trying so hard to make her son get married, even choosing girls for him but it didn't work. She was now in shock. Her son was never interested in anyone no matter how she tried, who was this that caught his eyes?

"What are you saying son?" His father asked. Even though Harry Maxwell, wanted his son to get married so that he could get an heir, he never pushed him against his will. All he wanted was his son to make the right decision.

Luke took a deep breath, he had decided to break the news to them but now he did not know how to go about it. He thought for a while then made up his mind. " We met a year ago and fell in love almost immediately, but we decided to wait a bit longer before we got married. That's why I never liked the girls mum got for me. We are now married and she will move in soon."

Dianna wanted to protest but Harry cut her off before she could say anything. " Son, why didn't you tell us before getting married? We could have arranged a big wedding. If you found someone you love, and are happy why can't we share in your happiness?"

"Dad, I don't want a big wedding. I just wanted something for the two of us, and I didn't want mother to drive her out the way she did two years ago." He looked at his mum, he remembered two years ago when he had brought his first love to his mother but she threw her out saying she was a gold digger. She broke up with him and never returned in his life. It almost broke him apart.

"Brother Luke, can I meet my sister-in-law? I will not allow anyone to chase her away, you have found your happiness and no one will take her away from you, even you mum." Luna looked at her mother, she knew her too well but she had sworn that her brother's happiness will only come first.

Dianna looked at her children, she knew there was nothing she could do now. " I will not interfere with your life again son, I wanted you to get married and be happy. When can we meet your wife?"

"Soon." He had not anticipated that things will go smoothly. He was glad that he will now be at peace, at least for a year until the end of the contract. .
