8. The reunion

Luke left his office early, he headed directly to the hospital. He was going to meet Anne's father. He had also promised Luna to take her to the movies. Being a Friday, he also wanted to get some rest from the busy week he had.

He went straight to Sage's room. Anne was folding a bedsheet while her father was busy reading the newspaper. They stopped what they were doing and showed him a place to seat. Few minutes later, Anne excused herself to give them time to speak.

" I don't know how you have convinced my daughter to marry you, but I want to be assured that she's in good hands. I don't want anyone to take advantage of my daughter. How can I be sure that she's safe with a total stranger?"

" Sir, I can never take advantage of your daughter. Even though you don't know me, I promise to take care of her.."

For some reasons, Luke felt the need to reassure him. He felt at peace talking to Sage. He knew he could trust this man. Sage too trusted him. He was also grateful that Luke saved him

They finished the meeting and he headed home. He took his sister to the movies and spent some time with her.

**Luke's apartment**

Luke and Luna had just come back from the movies. He was really exhausted. He had not taken a break the whole day. Luna went to her room and after freshening up she soon fell asleep.

Luke was about to take a shower when his phone rang. It was a new number. He picked the phone and a soft voice answered. The voice sounded familiar but he could not remember whose voice it was.

"Hello, Luke. It's Megan."

His heart skipped, it was her. How could he forget that voice? Two years ago, his heart was broken into pieces. He thought he will never hear her again even though his heart ached each day. He had lost hope but he couldn't love any other woman. He hoped that one day he will reunite with the woman he loved. That's why he chose to do a contract marriage so that he could buy more time to find her. Here she was now. She had looked for him too.

"Luke, are you there?"

"Hello, Megan, how are you?" He tried not to sound too excited.

Megan's heart sank, wasn't he happy to hear her? "Are you busy, have I interrupted something?"

" No, I was about to take a shower. How have you been?"

"Well, I have missed you. I'm at the Blue Eagle Restaurant, can I see you?"

" I'll be there in an hour, send me your room number."

She sent a message with the room number she was in, she made sure the room was tidy and smelling good. An hour later there was a knock on her door, she went and opened it. Luke had come. They both stood there, looking at each other. Only there hearts understood the language. Luke took her in his arms, he had waited for this moment for long.

No one spoke, he carried her to bed and laid her down. He made the first move and started kissing her passionately. The fire that had been burning inside him took control of him. They both kissed fiercely not wanting to let go. He unzipped her dress and removed it, then took out her bra and her panties. She unbuttoned his shirt and removed his clothes. He kissed her whole body taking time to feel her.

For two years he hid his feelings, tonight he let go and made love to her. Few hours later, they were both exhausted. She lay on his chest and soon both fell asleep.
