Already at home, Jonathan helps my mother and sister leave their belongings in the bedroom. He stays with us for a while, just long enough to show them the place, then he goes off to our room.

I make my mother and sister sit at the dining table while I insist on serving them. I watch my mother take some vitamins.

"My daughter, you look so beautiful, you seem more radiant now than when you were happily dancing. Are you in love with this man enough to get married?"

"Yes, mom, yes.” I say excitedly. "I know I said I didn't care about anyone or any relationship, but it was all very unexpected.”

"Look," Hailey confess, "we didn’t really bought this story about you taking a break from dancing because of your knee."

"That's true." My mother confirms. "I was afraid of him interfering in your life like others did. I don't want to see you suffer like that anymore."

"But I didn't make
