Chapter Forty-two

" Isn't it obvious? The way she regales me. No mother would treat their child like that. Our relationship is messed up, I don't think I would ever find that which I craved from her. I sometimes blame my father for not standing up for the right thing, for me."

I chuckled softly. One thing, I was glad to know she saw her mother from her perspective. The woman was peccable, voracious, and hated people who aren't useful to her.

You know, I had thought about her not being Michelle's birth mother. Fuck it! Even an adopted mother could love a child more than a real mother so long she is a good human being. Michelle's mom never acted like someone who deserved to be called a mother. Her behavior is like that of a child irrational, and annoying. It sickens me to the bone.

Silence engulfed us. It was time to open up to my best friend, talk to her about my deeds and life of fibs.
