Chapter 59

Checking the time, I see it’s getting late so I help Dad wake Jen up and I help her up into her room so she can go back to sleep. One thing I have learned about my sister is never wake her up and leave her to her own devices as she is a zombie, and she can be a lethal bitch when she’s in that mode.

Once she is sat on her bed, I start to leave but she stops me by grabbing my arm and makes me turn around to look at her. “What’s up, Jen?”

“Chase, I know I’m half asleep and I know you won’t take anything I say right now serious but I’m gonna say it anyway.” She stands up, grabs her PJs, and heads towards her bathroom to get changed, leaving the door slightly ajar so I can hear what she is saying. “I can see how happy this mystery girl is making you, and that you asked her to be your date to the Christmaquarde Ball, I’m only wanting to say please be careful and don’t scorch yourself for jumping into the fire before you’re certain on how you feel.”
