Later, while preparing, images of them making love were still running around Nevaeh's mind. Her entire body was still tingling. What happened was so… unique, so wonderful… so new. Nevaeh had the impression that, for the first time since they were together, they really, absolutely made love. Sweet, passionate, pure love.

Aiden hated the way Nevaeh stood with her arm wrapped around her waist. His instincts had said letting her go off with her father had been a bad idea. Aiden went inside the Aquarium, straight to the table he’d reserved for the event, and sat down. But he was scarcely aware of anything going on around him. He knew he should be making plans. Now that Skyler Belmont knew he had enough shares to force him out there was a chance the other man would try to manipulate the stock somehow. But he couldn’t focus on that just now. After nearly a week at the Ritz, Nevaeh realized that her old habits were back. She was sleeping maybe two hours a night. No matter how she tried, she couldn’t get comfortable in her sleep and kept rolling over, searching for Aiden. She wished that she could calm the voices in her head. The ones that warned her that maybe she’d overreacted and that she should go back and try one more time to make Aiden see reason. Nevaeh heard an insistent pounding at her door. She was back in her old condo and the only people who knew she was there were her father and Blossom since she had come over the first night she came back there. ‘Well, whoever the disturber was maybe he will go away…’ she thought and continued writing on her computer. Still, the pounding increased.“For God’s sake…” she exclaimed while climbing out of her bed and went to open the door, not bothering to put on a robe to cover up an old t-shirt and a pair of shorts. If the person was rude enough to disturb her on a Saturday night, then whoever it was could deal with her bedtime apparel.
