The next day,

I woke up early as usual. I started preparing for work. I got dressed and went downstairs.

“Good morning, ma'am,” Susan greeted. “Morning, Susan,” I responded. “Hope you slept well,” she inquired.

“Of course, what about you?” I asked. “Same here,” she replied. “That's great to hear,” I remarked.

“Your breakfast is ready,” she informed me. “Oh okay, thanks,” I appreciated. I walked towards the dinner hall. She followed me.

She served my meals personally. It was suspicious because that wasn't her job. She finished serving my tea, then she cleared her throat.

I smiled knowing she wanted to discuss something. “Susan, what is it?” I queried her. “I am not sure if I can ask you something,” she proposed.

“Ask away,” I gave her my permission. “What happened to the boss's mother? I heard that she's back in town, but she is not here yet,” she said curiously.
