Chapter 23

She left the bacon on the burner and they walked towards each other, when they got to each other, they hugged. Their grip on each other was tight.

"You should have woken me up instead of sleeping on the couch." His mother said when they disengaged from the hug.

"Nah. I did not want to disturb you." Fay replied.

His mother went back to the bacon.

"Did you and dad fight?" Fay suddenly asked.

"No, why do you ask?" His mother replied.

"I was just wondering why you had to sleep in my room," Fay responded.

She looked at him and their gaze met.

"I just missed you, that's why I went to sleep in your room." His mother replied.

"And the duvet?" Fay asked again.

"I saw you this morning and I did not want to wake you up so I brought the duvet." She replied.

"Oh thank you." He said.

He walked to where she stood and asked if there was anything he had to do and she replied that there was nothing. He then leaned on the little island in the middle of the kitchen.

"So how is it going?" His mother sudde
