EP 61.

REYNOLDS' POV.

I stepped out of the car, and right on cue, I realised I was correct; something had indeed gone wrong with her.

"Get the heck away from her!" I yelled at them. They were thugs, with clothes wrapped above their noses, concealing their identity. Everything felt wrong, yet strangely off. The air hung heavy with an unsettling tension.

They were frightened, clearly not anticipating anyone to be around or find them.

The first one, with a blue cloth over his face, lunged at me, wielding a plank. I engaged, throwing punches into the air with a visceral determination.

Some of my blows connected with him, but I didn't care about the hits. My sole focus was inflicting the same pain upon him that they intended for Kayla.

The plank slammed against my knee, forcing me to bend as I crashed hard onto the floor, bruises forming instantly.

Gritting my teeth, I pushed myself up, clutching the plank with my right arm. With a swift punch, I knocked him off his feet, and he winced in pain
