4 days later I wake up to Christine crying next to me, so I get up and unclip my bra to start feeding her. As I lie back, I look over at the clock on my nightstand. It's 5 A.M. I look over to Xavier's side of the bed and he's fast asleep. He must be worn out, staying up all night to watch me and the baby sleep. I keep telling him that he doesn't have to stay up and that we'll be fine, but we both know he's gonna do it anyway. As I feed Christine, I feel Xavier shifting next to me. He turns over to me and throws his arm over my thighs to place his hand on my hip, putting his hand underneath my panties to touch my bare skin. Good god, both of them act like they want to live in my skin. When Christine unlatches, I put her on my shoulder and I pat her back softly and she burps and spits up some of the milk she drank. "You drank too much, babe." I say, getting her burp cloth off the nightstand. I wipe my shoulder off and I wipe her mouth and then she's fast asleep on top of me. I look
I carry Christine in her carrier as we go through metal detectors and scanners. After we get past the metal detectors, Xavier grabs my hand and has to scan his other hand and his face to get through a massive gate. When we walk to the other side of the gate, two guards step in front of me and look down at me. "I.D please." they say. "She's with me." Xavier says, his body tense. "Your father demanded-" "I don't give a damn what he demanded. Who do you work for?" he says, squaring up to the guards, making them take cautious steps back. "You, sir." one of them say. "Exactly, which means I can have your asses right back on the streets where you came from in a split second." he says, his hand tightening around mine. I put my hand on his and he releases some of the tension in his hand. He huffs and fixes his tie, walking past the guards. "That's five hundred off both your checks." he says, walking into the building. We walk on polished marble concrete floors and it's completely qui
Xavier's POV: Things just got real. I was hoping this wouldn't happen. But in a way, I knew it would. Dionne stands in the middle of the ring as King stands at the side, everyone staying as quiet as possible. Nobody ever speaks when the boss or their partner are at the center of attention, so they all stay quiet. "What'd you say?" Dionne says, inching toward her. "I said that was nothing." Kendall replies. "You want me to show you what I can do?" Dionne says, obvious anger in her tone. Just then, the door opens and Kayno comes through the door. "What's going on here?" Kayno asks, looking at the ring where Dionne's standing. "Kendall?" he asks, as I leave a long kiss on my baby's forehead. "Kendall?!" he whispers violently, realizing what's happening. "I need to stop her. Dionne's gonna kill her if she gets her in that ring." I say kissing Christine again. "You got her car seat?" I ask. "Installed it before I left the house." "You be careful with my child. If I come home and-
Dionne's POV: Xavier's been downstairs for hours. I don't know what he's doing, but I don't really care. Christine starts crying in her crib in her nursery, so I get up and I pick her up and I try to rock her back to sleep, but she's still whining. "Probably needs to be changed." I whisper to myself. I put her on her changing table in her crib, and I get a diaper and baby wipes to change her. "God, you stink." I say, smiling and scrunching my nose. When I finish changing her, I put it inside a diaper disposal bag and I go downstairs to get rid of it. When I get downstairs, carrying Christine, I throw away her diaper and I get a bottle of water, then I go upstairs without looking over at Xavier. I go to my old room and I sit on my bed, watching "The Flash" as I feed Christine. After a couple minutes of nursing her, I hear a soft knock on the door, a deep, smooth voice coming from behind it. "Can you open the door?" Xavier says. "Come in. I'm feeding right now."I say plainly as my e
I finish getting dressed and I go downstairs and there's no seats next to Xavier, so I look around and there's a free seat over by the girls, so I walk over to them and I sit down, all of them with beers in their hands. "Ayo, Kay!" Xavier calls through all the chatter. "Beer?" Kayno asks, digging one out of the cooler. He tosses it over to Xavier and he catches it with his strong hands, his muscles flexing when he catches it and pops it open with his teeth. Z rolls a blunt and Xavier throws him a lighter to light it up with and we all talk, the living room buzzing with laughs from the boys and giggles from the girls, watching their men from across the room. "My God. He's drop dead gorgeous. I can't stop thinking about how good he is." Amber says, practically drooling over Kayno as he nudges Z's arm. "You guys, I kid you not, he knows how to get it done. If someone asked me who the best dick I've ever had came from, it would be him." Riley says, nodding her head. "I think we're ma
6 weeks later Xavier's POV I sit in bed while Dionne's in the shower and I play with Christine, poking her stomach and kissing her cheeks. She smiles a big smile at me and I pick her up and she sneezes. She feels another one coming so she breathes in sharply and lets it go, then does it again and sneezes in my face, making me laugh and jerk back a little. "Bless you, mi amor {my love}." I say, kissing her face. "You need a bath and a hair wash, baby." I say to her, running my fingers over her little head, holding it up with my other hand. Dionne gets out of the shower as I lie the baby back to check her diaper. "She okay?" Dionne asks, walking to the bed to smile and kiss the baby. "She just needs a bath, and daddy's gonna get her one." I say in a high voice. I go to the bathroom and I run a warm bath for the baby, sitting her baby bather in the bathtub to sit her in it. When I'm finished running her bubble bath, I go into the room to get her undressed, then I carefully carry her
Dionne's POV: After Mom and the boys leave, Mark and Riley agree to keep the baby for a while for us. I tell them how to fix her bottles and I give them directions to where her onesies, diapers, and baby wipes are, just in case they need them, and me and Xavier go upstairs, shutting and locking the door behind us. I take my clothes off to get in the shower and I catch a glimpse of my stomach in the mirror. "Wow. It's like I never had the baby." I say, turning to analyze every angle. Xavier comes behind me, naked, and he puts his chin on my shoulder, wrapping his arms around my stomach as he sighs. "You think Christine would act out if she had another sibling .... or three?" "Three?" I scoff. "No way am I pushing out three more babies just for them to come looking like you." I say jokingly."Besides, Christine gave me enough pain to last a lifetime." "I can give you some other kind of pain. The kind that feels good." My stomach boils with need when those words slip out of his mouth.
I wake up in the morning in an empty bed. Christine's still asleep, or else she'd be whining in her crib. I slip on a shirt and I walk out of the room to find Xavier's office door closed with light coming from beneath the door. I walk in and he has a pained expression on his face. "Xavier, what's the matter?" I say, walking behind his desk to sit on his lap. He doesn't say anything as he sits there, staring off. "Xavier, you can talk to me, I promise." I reassure him as I rub his cheek, standing next to him. He suddenly starts crying, making me walk in front of him to straddle his lap and hug him back. "Let it out baby. Let it out." I say, letting him cry on my chest. He hugs me tight, burying his face in my shirt. I run my fingers through his hair, soothing him, and he starts to sniffle, calming down while he lets me go. "Can we talk now? Do you want to talk about it?" I ask him, raking my fingers through his hair, pushing it back from his face. "There was a ... a bombing in Las V
